I absolutely LOVE this lamp!! I can't believe it's only $29, when friends see it, they assume that it's an expensive designer lamp that I must have paid a lot for. I have 2, one makes a great side table lamp for the living room. The other is really nice as bedside table lamp, because the lighting is very soft and soothing with the frosted shade. I often use it to read before bed and find myself falling asleep in the relaxing lighting.

It looks really nice in the picture. The positive reviews had me excited about it too. Luckily I just wanted it to house a compact florescent to be used with a lamp-compatible alarm clock and I was planning on placing it high on a shelf. I would NOT put this in my living room, somewhere low to the ground, or anywhere that people can get close to it. I also only paid $25 for it (FUZ had a refurbished one listed as "used" here on amazon). If I had paid full price I would feel ripped off. To their credit the refurb they sent does not appear to have any flaws.

There are two major drawbacks to this lamp that are not shown in the picture:

1. The bulb socket enters the lamp from the side, not the bottom, so if you don't place it in a corner, you will have an ugly plastic protrusion with a wire hanging out of it visible from the back side of the lamp.

2. The lamp is short enough so that if you were to place it on a coffee table, end table or night stand, people would be able to see the naked bulb through the open top when standing. Ouch!

So if you can get around those two things, it doesn't look too bad. I placed it on a shelf near the ceiling, in a corner so the cord is hidden and you cannot see into the top.

This lamp is really great. It's a very cool-looking design, the modern twisting shape looks great, and gives the impression that it's more expensive than its price tag. The frosted surface filters the light nicely and seems like it will hide wear & tear well. The lamp concept is clever, it's a simple sheet of plastic with a few holes; you curl it up, and insert the fixture through the holes to hold it in place. Easy assembly/disassembly makes it perfect for storing away almost anywhere, and the plastic shade can lay flat. And best of all, it's eco-friendly! The plastic is 100% recycled, and the lamp takes compact fluorescent bulbs.
