I studied from various Lange medical textbooks and Current Diagnosis and Treatment texts extensively in medical school and residency. In the tradition of the wonderful Lange Series Current Medical Diagnosis and Treatment this new book on geriatric care is a handy reference for the busy primary care internist who needs a reference that is both authoritative and accessible. Current Geriatrics addresses the special considerations involved in caring for elderly and aging patients. It covers conditions specific to aging (such as Alzheimer's disease and end of life care). Importantly, it also reminds us how to tailor our treatment of many common medical conditions to the particular needs of elderly patients. Current Geriatrics is an important addition to the library of any health provider caring for older adults.
