Although I bought this book for my spring (2011) English class, I read lots of articles, essays and short stories that are in this text- without the prof even asking us to. Unheard of! I will not re-sell this book, I'm definitely keeping it- I haven't finished reading all that's in it yet, but I certainly will. Get this book, and share the info in it with others.

This was required for my English 201 course. It is easy to read and the essays are relevant to today's issues. The analysis and breakdown of the essays will be valuable tools in helping me improve my writing.

This textbook had inspired me to delve deeper into certain issues. Makes you think outside the box. Would recommend to professors and their classes.

I needed this book for my English class this semester. I wish all of my textbooks were as interesting as this one. There are so many different issues addressed in this book. The collections of other work provide great support and examples in defense and opposition of the issues. I will be keeping this book even after this semester is over.

I had to purchase this for a writing class and it was extremely helpful in writing persuasive papers. Not only does the book provide helpful directions on how to write papers, but it also comes with readings from both sides of arguments.

This is good, as far as textbooks go. Contains a lot of examples for reference. Great for learning how to write an argumentative essay.
