Editorial Reviews

"This continues as the clinical reference of choice for general and vascular surgeons, particularly those taking oral certifying examinations. Updates are obvious since the previous edition in 2008, and the quality of illustrations has steadily improved. 4.0 out of 5 stars Very well done December 24, 2012

As the moderator of our Dept of Surgery Book Club, we have been reviewing the 10th Edition, 20 pages per week since Jan 2012. We are about half way through this edition and find it to be completely updated and substantially improved from the 9th edition which we reviewed two years ago. There are all new authors and the editing show far fewer mistakes.

For General Surgeons wishing to keep current, the 10th Edition of Current Surgical Therapy fills the bill. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Edition May 3, 2012

Cameron's textbook is truly a must have for any surgery resident or newly practicing attending. I am currently a surgical fellow and am using this book to review for my board exams. Great content. The electronic edition works wonderfully on my iPad. Love it. Also works well to read on the iPhone 4S. I love the portability of having this book with me at all times to quickly look something up and review a topic on the fly. Awesome book!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Should be on every general surgeon's shelf January 13, 2012

Not much more to say other than this is the ONLY textbook that I continue to buy with each new edition. Busy surgeons don't have time to dust off their old & outdated Schwartz or Maingot's encyclopedias of surgery! But...there is time to take a quick read of one of the Cameron chapters to brush up on the critical details & refresh one's knowledge. If it's not on your shelf, get one.

The Cameron textbook of surgery is a classic, and this edition is no different. I'm reading it cover to cover to brush up on some of the general surgery topics that aren't a mainsay of my practice. However, I bought this specific edition because what I read on Amazon made me believe that the electronic volume could be downloaded to an e-reader, but that isn't true. I'm not writing to slam the seller or Amazon, but just to warn other buyers that this isn't going to be a version you can put on your Kindle or iPad; it requires constant data connectivity to use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book January 21, 2014
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Cameron's Current Surgical Therapy is an excellent book. With it's concise and clinically relevant chapters covering a broad range of surgical topics, it belongs in your collection along with Sabiston or Schwartz.

An excellent resource for medical students pursuing surgery and surgical residents.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must own for any serious general surgeon August 6, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
For those practicing surgeons, this is a great reference for current clinical problems. A great refresher that I carry on my many portable devices and great for that quick refresh when you are seeing that consult or patient in clinic. You should have read other editions as well to get a broader perspective on the problems, but it is indispensable. I was initially reluctant to commit to the kindle format, but, it is cross platform. Works best on 7 inch screen or above for diagrams, but works on a galaxy note.

one of the most straight forward surgical texts. I don't always fall asleep while reading this one like I do with Sabiston.
