Editorial Reviews

Review

"This CD-ROM is fantastic - a remarkable contemporary educational resource for anyone working with lactacting/breastfeeding women.... All in all I think this CD is an excellent learning resource which should be available on all neonatal and maternity units. In addition I consider it is also appropriate for the wider multidisciplinary team including health visitors, breastfeeding support staff, dieticians and GPs."

This book is a great reference book for the experienced NIC nurse. The outline format is a little easier to follow than straight textbook format. There are a few chapters that are not explained very well, or the data is skipped over quickly, but overall a great book.

I have read a few pages from each chapter of this book from a friend of mine. I absolutely like the way the concepts were presented. I was so interested on it that I decided I want to have my own too. But with convenience in mind, it also made me decide to buy a kindle so I can download the book. I was so disappointed that this does not have the kindle version yet. I have been telling the publisher to have one but to no avail. I purchased the review for Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing but is really hoping to get the Core Curriculum for Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing. So for those who loved the book, and have a kindle and wants to have it in their kindle, pls send a note to the publisher that you want it in kindle version. Thanks. And to the publisher, pls make one as soon as possible.

I think this book is the best out there for NICU RNs. I used it to study for my RNC and I also refer to it regularly when I have questions about something at work. At first I didn't like the outline format. I wanted something that was narrative with good explanations. I purchased other books that I thought I would like better, but I ended up coming back to this one. I relied on this book for about 95% of my studying for my RNC. I only used another book when I was studying the cardiac section because this book didn't cover a couple of the more rarer cardiac anomalies. I definitely recommend it!

This textbook is made to go hand-in-hand for answering any questions you may have, while studying for your RNC exam. It can be used to expand your knowledge base regarding any Newborn Nursery, Neonatal Intensive Care, or Labor & Delivery information you may need to study for the certification. Very detailed and well written!

The Core Curriculum is one of those text that just keeps getting better and better. Easy to read and well set out. I recommend it to my colleagues and students. The strength of the text shows when past students buy the new edition to keep up with changes.

A great comprehensive book for any neonatal nurse or student. Can seem repetitive at times. Very thorough, would like some more visual diagrams or pictures though.
