Love it!,

This was purchased by my 9 year old daughter with her savings after her 11 year old brother received one for his birthday. They BOTH love their scooters and my husband and I have fun riding them around as well! The charge is just fine and the speed is perfect. They are made very durable and there's not one thing I can complain about. The kids ride them everyday and just throw them on the charge when they're done so they're always ready. We have not run out of battery time at all. This is a fantastic toy for all to enjoy.

This electric scooter is great. Actually this is my second one of this kind. It doesnt get any better. A++. Rode it from/to work for several months. Not much electricity consumption. Little slow on hills. My weigth is around 180 lbs + backpack. Defenetly recommend it.

This is my second scooter. The first was an IZip 400 bought last year. The charger failed on that scooter (which the company replaced) and it did well for the rest of the summer. Now the throttle is failing, so I decided to get a new scooter.
I bout the Ezip 500 through Amazon. Since I was familiar with the design - assembly wasn't a problem. I noticed the box wasn't in the best condition - most of the staples weren't secure - and mainly tape was holding it together. One part that does come assembled is the wheel and motor assembly. I noticed my rear wheel didn't rotate. A bolt from the motor mount was interfering with the rear wheel sprocket. I backed out the screw and the wheel rotated. It still sounded awful. I discovered the motor and rear wheel are out of alignment by at least 1 cm (close to 1/2 inch). I don't know why exactly the alignment is so far off. Simple adjustments didn't work. I'm still trying to fix it. So - two scooters, two problems. Once they are working they are great, but the company obviously has quality problems. I would buy at a local store with a good return policy rather than through the mail.

Aloha From Hawaii
This is a great scooter for getting around the campus and down to the store and back. It seems strong and sturdy and runs great. I does have a little trouble getting up the mountain, but I can coast down and save the battery. I have noticed that it shuts off sometimes when going over speed bumps or something for reasons unknown to me, but I just turn the switch off and back on again and it takes right off. Sometimes this is an inconvience, but it is still a great schooter. I would certainly buy another and another. Mahalo

Great, safe scooter!!!!,
This review is from: eZip 500 Electric Scooter (Sports)
my son got this for his 7th b'day and it is absolutely terrific! I wanted one with a seat because I thought that would be easier for him to maneuver than the ones where you can only stand. He asked for a lime green scooter and guses what? I found one on Amazon! I do most of my online shopping here, and its made by Schwinn which is a trusted name in bikes....it has a hand brake and you can easily stop it with your feet if your child isnt used to a hand brake. It is very easy to control and easy to keep steady...and Ive even ridden it with him so it will carry over 200 pounds...his dad and several others have ridden it with him too. I think we as adults love it just as much as he does!! So if you are worried about safety, this one is safe, easy to ride and you can get a matching helmet! ALWAYS WEAR A HELMET! I recommend this to anyone looking for a scooter.

We bought four of the scooters and we ride them all the time. They have replaced many of our short car rides. As campers, they have replaced our golf cart rentals. LOVE THEM!!!

It was good for the price and fun to ride around the neighborhood. It was simple to assemble and the battery lasts a while if you use it right. Goes up hills nicely. Now his brother wants one too!

Got this scooter for our 13 year old daughter. She loves it and rides almost every day. It was pretty easy to assemble also. She's had it about a month and so far, no problems.

Commuter's Delight,

At the time of writing this review, I have used the eZip 500 Scooter for 5 weeks and have put nearly 125 miles on it. Everyday I take the scooter with me on the bus, the handles fold down and I can hold it while I sit on the bus and not disturb anyone else. After my bus ride, I then ride the scooter about 2.5 miles to work. The battery easily removes so I can charge it during the day in my office while the scooter is locked up in the bike rack. You can also easily remove the seat to make it easier to carry. I'm 6'0" and weigh 200 lbs. and this little scooter moves along at a quick clip. I carry my bike locks, books and iPad in my bag and it adds another 20/30 pounds to the total weight. The only issue I've had with this scooter in terms of speed or ability to carry me and my bag is when I'm trying to go up a steep hill or the ground is really slippery or covered with debris. Otherwise this scooter moves along quickly and reliably. I chose this scooter because it was designed for adult weights, was light enough (although not that light at 56lbs.) to carry on the bus and the low cost. Maintenance is simple, oil the chain as needed, charge the scooter after each use, etc. All in all it is a fun to ride scooter and definitely a conversation starter. I would recommend that if you don't need to carry onto a bus, get the largest watt motor you can afford, it'll definitely help on steep hills. Great buy for a short (between 5 to 6 miles max) commute to work or shopping! |
