The advertised 15-20 mph is extremely inaccurate (I installed a speedometer). 10-15 would be more accurate. Using only the motor, the bicycle goes about 10 mph on a flat surface (with pedaling I can get about 16 mph). Going uphill typically requires pedaling even while using the motor. Going downhill, the motor will disengage (as it can't keep up with the wheel any longer) at about 17 mph, so it literally is not capable of going the 20 mph advertised. I received this bicycle without a charger. I called customer service and was shipped an upgraded quick charger. I ordered a second battery to use with the bike. After about 10 charges, one of the batteries stopped charging and I called customer service again. They were happy to ship a new one even though it was unclear whether it was the original battery that came with the bike (and therefore covered under the warranty), or the second battery causing the trouble, and didn't ask me to return the faulty battery either. I am extremely happy with the customer service I have received from the company, but the product is a bit less impressive than advertised. It does do a good job of helping me get to where I need to go in a more reasonable amount of time than I would be able to achieve on the strength of my own legs alone. I can average about 13 mph using the motor as well as pedaling, and am using this as daily transportation for college (12 miles from my apartment). It ends up being good exercise as well.
