I've been looking at this bike with the idea to purchase it come spring time. But I saw it on sale at Best Buy and couldn't pass up the price ($1299). I took it home for my first ride and realized I'm going to need a helmet. The acceleration and speed were incredible. It's well built, with disk brakes and front suspension.
The battery is heavy and located in the back, so the ceneter of gravity also tends to be towards the back of the bike. I'm sure there is a new model coming out, but this bike is all I was looking for in an electric bike. When you see the price drop, look at this bike as a possible choice.

I took delivery on the Ezip Zuma3 four weeks ago. The bike met and exceeded all of my expectations. I live in central Florida where the terrain is mostly flat. I was pleased to cruise at 24mph with a range of 25 to 30 miles.
I put fenders on it, a speedometer, luggage rack, and mirror on it.

I am saving $200+ on gas each month. I cannot pedal fast enough to assist at full speed. I will probably change out the front pedal sprocket so I can assist and go 27 to 30mph.

The speed and range are a good match. The frame is study with plenty of bracing and welds.

I would like front shocks, however for the price, it cannot be beat.

Love it, perfect for my situation! I'm 52, 6 foot tall, overweight (240 lbs), and suffer from a myriad of leg, ankle, and feet problems that spring up often seemingly out of nowhere. I have a job too, and it is about 11 miles away. Fortunately, there is a state park trail nearby along a canal running parrallel with the Delaware River to commute for most of the ride. I essentially have my own private 9 mile stretch of perfectly maintained, level, shaded bike trail to commute to work, so I have no excuses to not use it and finally get in shape.

I already own a decent Currie Trailz and got the new lithium battery for it but it is only good for about 7 miles of TAG and it's motor whirs noticably louder than the almost silent motor of the Zuma. I wanted to go the whole 11 miles without pedaling if a leg injury kicked in during the ride. I called Currie and they said the Zuma would be perfect for my needs. They were right! I just completed a 23 mile, almost no pedaling test ride to see how far the battery could take me. That means I can leave my charger at home when I commute. In fact, there is still a little juice left in the battery but 23 miles is enough of a positive result to stop the test. I'm sold. My GPS indicated I was going about 20 mph the whole time as advertised even towards the end of the ride (no slow down of the bike even though the battery was nearly empty). Tires are really great with tread around the entire width and the leather partial hand-grips are a luxurious add-on. There are 2 fairly small hills along my commute but they are handled with minimal pedaling. Did I mention 23 miles of TAG and 20 mph! Disc brakes are another high-end feature of this very comfortable bike with swept back handlebars. My only nitpick is that the rear brake makes a bit of a grinding noise every time I use it. Maybe they just need an adjustment. I'll have to contact Currie about it.

If you want speed, long battery life, and a comfortable seating position, the Zuma delivers.

This bike is really powerful. I live and work in San Francisco and I can climb the hills like the street car. Of course I do have to pedal on the steepest hills but i don't sweat at all.

Today I actually got somewhere (2.7 miles) sooner than my friends did by car.

Strong, cool, comfortable.

Every time I'm riding it's pure happiness.

I really love riding my 2012 iZip Zuma, but I wanted to warn people about the battery problems I've been having. My first battery died over the first winter I owned the bike. The battery was replaced under the warranty, but the second battery died in less than a year--once again, while it was in winter storage. Both times, the batteries were maintained as per the instructions. Currie may have fixed the battery problems with the new design, but the rep at Currie just told me that they expect the batteries to die after two years. This may be a standard among all electric bikes, but I was pretty shocked to find out that I was going to have to pony up over $650 every two years. There's nothing in any of their sales materials that indicates such a short battery life.

The seller was extremely helpful. I needed the bikes by a certain date and they did all they could to assist with this. The bikes do even better than advertised, offering everything I was looking for in an e-bike and more. I live in the Colorado Rockies, and these bikes climbed every hill I tested them on. Both product and vendor provided excellent service, and both get a 10 in my book.
