We bought these scooters for our kids for Christmas. 3.0 out of 5 stars Good Over all"BUT !"
This is a good product overall but the lack of a rear brake gives me pause. Having ridden motorcycles off and on for 40+yrs. I can assure you breaking hard on your front brake is risky business. I think my 8 year old grandson will master it as he is smart and athletic but we shall see. Personally I think this is cost savings at its worst. Otherwise at less than $ 200.00...

We bought these scooters for our kids for Christmas. While our kids are under the recommended age (7 and 9), we started our kids riding bikes and motorized toys very early in life so we had no concerns and we never let them ride anything unsupervised. I must say that I am very impressed with these scooters. My kids have ridden them almost non-stop. So far the only issue we've had is the kickstands have broken on both of them but they've been tanks in terms of build quality otherwise (they've crashed a few times). I was surprised with how much power they have and even move my 200 lb frame quickly on everything but steep inclines. I'll keep the review short and just do a summary list.

Pros:
- Power (with very smooth acceleration)
- Durability (except kickstand)
- Ride comfort (smooth ride and nice seat)
- Size (small enough for them but big enough for me and my wife)
- Charges faster than any similar motorized vehicle we own (still takes 5-6 hours from low though)
- Good battery life (given the performance...about and hour and a half was as long as we've lasted)

Cons:
- Heavy (makes lifting into our truck or car a workout)
- Brakes can require a fair amount of adjusting to get right

So far, I'm glad we chose this over the Razor E300.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great scooter for the money, October 23, 2009

I purchased this scooter for my 13 year old son and he LOVES it! The scooter was extremely easy to assemble and is very sturdy. The battery charges easily and allows him to travel for roughly eight miles per charge. The top speed is 15mph which is fast enough for him to have fun without worrying his Mom too much! It does great on hills and zips right along on flat surfaces. My son and I are both very happy with this purchase!

Otherwise at less than $ 200.00 it's a good value and shows better build quality than it's competition like Razor for example.

got scooter for my son for Christmas, he 10 years old. The scooter is very well made.
The only complaint from my son is that it is very slow going up hills. I think this is
due to his weight (100 lbs) If you plan on using the scooter
in an area with hills and the weight of the user is 100 lbs. or over you might want a
scooter with a stronger motor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Great, August 22, 2010

Out of the box it is a simple 5-10 minute set up not even looking at the instructions just charge it up each night for the next day of fun. This scooter at times appears to go faster than what is stated so wear that helmet just to be safe.My nine year old can not get enough of it and she is constantly riding it. A month has gone by now with every day use and now the chain has to be tightened but this sccooter is well worth the money!!!!

My 10 year old daughter loves this scooter. I thought it would be too big when I purchased it but its not at all. Assembly was very simple, battery charges right up and power can last a couple of hours depending on if you go full throttle or up hills (this can drain the battery quickly). I am very happy with the purchase, well worth the money....

Santa brought this scooter for my 8yr old son (who is really big for his age) and it is amazing!!! It is super quiet (I couldn't even tell he had turned it on and was using the electric part when he first started riding) and goes just fast enough without going too fast (he's not a daredevil and he got it up to max speed on a long straightaway with no fear). AWESOME!!!

The battery seems to charge quickly and he has wanted to quit riding long before the charge wore down each time he has ridden it.

Highly recommended!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Battery is worthless, cost 1/2 of the Scooter. Beware!, May 11, 2009
This review is from: Currie Technologies e-Zip E400 Electric Scooter (Sports)
My husband bought 2 of these scooters on April 8th, one for him and one for me, and mine doesn't work, the battery won't take a charge. Instructions clearly state Do not return to store, call us. We called Currie on April 10th and they said they'd send out a new battery, battery didn't come. Called 3 weeks later and they said that they had to have the freight cost to send the battery and by the way the batteries are on back order, I told them I wasn't paying shipping on a battery when the scooter didn't work new, they said to deal with the store. The store wouldn't take the scooter back because it was past 2 weeks, I explained I was waiting for the battery. I just called Currie back and they said sorry if I want a backordered battery I had to pay freight of $16.00, so paid it and the battery won't be here until the 3rd week in June. Batteries are 129.99 and we paid 199.00 for the scooter, since the batteries are back ordered I'd take it as a sign the batteries don't last.
