5.0 out of 5 stars Geronimo Stilton's greatest adventure yet!
I thought this was a GREAT book! This my favorite Geronimo Stilton book so far! My favorite character (besides Geronimo Stilton) was Professor Spitfur. 1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
As a "Geronimo Stilton" (GS) household, I was very disappointed with this particular title. A good 2/3 of this book focuses on Geronimo's very cheap, and quite honestly, crabby grandfather who yells and exhibits bad behavior page after page after page. I kept waiting for this story to go somewhere or for there to at least be some repercussion for "Grandfather's" bad...

Geronimo's grandfather sends him to Egypt to do an interview. The most exciting part of the book is that Geronimo gets to go to Egypt. The description of the airplane ride is very funny. The scariest part is when the Professor gets knocked out and Geronimo is left in the dark!

I like the way the book is printed with the words being different colors and styles. It has lots of pictures and maps too. It makes it easier for me to read it. I am going to read all fifty titles as they are translated from Italian to English!

The humor is great for children and adults alike.
The colorful illustrations also make this a super choice for beginning chapter book readers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rodent hero goes Egyptian!, July 29, 2005
By
I have always liked the mouse so I started creating polymer clay models of it(and the entire office of the Rodent Gazzette).

The Egyptian costume is such a great idea to play around with!!!

The series is addictive, anyone will get hooked to find out what's next in the mouse if they start reading ANY chapter of the full series.

BTW, as the different language versions (I've read Chinese and English so far and compared the versions with the Spanish, French and Italian original) have different number for different "episodes", you don't really have to start from #01.

5.0 out of 5 stars the curse of the cheese pyramid, December 10, 2011
A Kid's Review
i like the book because it holds a good beginning geronimo is angry because when his grand father tells him that he is spending too much he is not happy with his new assigments (which i think is smart because he sharpens pencils by paw) when his grandfather sees that he is not enjoying his new duties he gives him a plane ticket to egypt he is excited but when he goes to the airport he finds out that his grandfather tricked him to go on a plane that is cheaper than the ticket. When he goes on the plane he is put in class z (where he has to use the bathroom in a bedpan) he meets a mouse named Danial E. Deadfur an undertaker. Then the plane engins die and he starts saying the old 'what ifs'. When he reaches in Egypt he is going in a taxi his phone rings its grandfather and he said you are spending tooooooooooooooo much. He tells geronimo to hire a camel and make sure you get a discount then geronimo gets sea sick on land. When he meets Alrat Spitfur.then he gets lost in a tomb gets his way out . he goes back on land he gets rid of grandfather on a around the world cruise it is a very funny book i think you should read it.

5.0 out of 5 stars love these book.., February 5, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I buy these for our 8 yr. old grandson, he loves them. We are now on buying him # series books. He loves to get them. I just wish that all Geronimo Stilton books were hard backs. he likes the hard back covers so much better. The # 4 in the series we have been buying is just paper back. Good books for kids to read...

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, April 20, 2010
As a "Geronimo Stilton" (GS) household, I was very disappointed with this particular title. A good 2/3 of this book focuses on Geronimo's very cheap, and quite honestly, crabby grandfather who yells and exhibits bad behavior page after page after page. I kept waiting for this story to go somewhere or for there to at least be some repercussion for "Grandfather's" bad behavior. There was none.

Geronimo eventually makes it to Eqypt and I thought that the story would FINALLY start, but his time there was brief and felt obligatory - as though it was thrown in to justify the title.

I do fairly well finding books on the second-hand market, but generally do not find GS books. I presume this is because, like me, their owners choose to keep them in their personal collection. This book was received as a hand-me-down and after reading it I can understand why. We finished this title tonight and it will not be staying with us. I'd rather make room for other, much more worthy GS titles.

This book could have been SOOOO much better. It's page after page of lost opportunity. Don't waste your time on this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Geronimo Is Back, Funnier and More Educational Than Ever!, January 10, 2009

If you liked Lost Treasure of the Emerald Eye, you'll adore The Curse of the Cheese Pyramid. In the process, you'll probably develop a taste for more of these cheesy tales.

The best of the Geronimo Stilton books display three strengths:

1. Great humor that keeps tykes and parents giggling.

2. Lots of helpful information portrayed in ways that can stimulate a child's interest.

3. Encouragement for children to use good judgment.

In The Curse of the Cheese Pyramid, the Geronimo Stilton series hits its stride in terms of those three dimensions.

The series is written as though the main character, Geronimo Stilton, is describing his own life. As this book opens, Geronimo receives a mysterious telephone call telling him to wake up. He goes back to sleep. Arriving at work, where he runs The Rodent's Gazette, New Mouse City's most popular newspaper, there's trouble: Grandfather William Shortpaws (also known as "Cheap Mouse Willy"), who is the founder of the paper, has descended to make changes. Those changes have only one focus: Save money. Everyone has been fired except for members of the family, and Geronimo's antiques and rare books have been sold for a pittance.

Out of this disaster comes one benefit: Geronimo is sent on assignment to Egypt, a place he's always wanted to visit. But the trip is one humorous pratfall after another as his grandfather shows his flinty side and problems turn up with the story that Geronimo is to cover. But it's all in good fun. And we gain a fun story to read.

As always, the typography is wonderful for literally displaying what the words mean in colorful and imaginative ways. It's a terrific way to help youngster learn to identify words.

If you want to enjoy the story even more, have a pleasant snack of cheese and crackers while you read!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a great book for 2nd graders., January 6, 2009
We have alot of the Geronimo Stilton series. My daughters love the crazy adventures and mishaps that happen to Geronimo. I would recommend this series to anyone with a 2nd or 3rd grader. My 5th graders loves to hear the stories too when I'm reading a night. She thinks it is hilarious.

The Curse of the Cheese Pyramid

I read a book called: Geronimo Stilton The Curse of the Cheese Pyramid, By Geronimo Stilton. This book is about a mouse that his boss (grandfather) tells him to go to Egypt, interview a professor, try to get some details on his camel dung powered invention. The professor takes him into a pyramid, but he accidentally tripped, and got K.O.'d! What in the ancient Egypt history does he do now? Read to go on!
