5.0 out of 5 stars Good rockabilly, with a psycho factor
I think this album can stand up to any rockabilly album, forget limiting this album to the psychobilly genre. Of course this band is no Elvis Presley or Wanda Jackson, but I think they approach that level better than most any psychobilly band, and it would not be an embarassment to suggest the comparison. i love the nekromantix. i got into them about a year ago from a random purchase of "return of the loving dead."....that album grew on me like a vine...soon after, i went back out and forked over my last 20 for this album....regardless to say, it was a snooze-fest compared to "return."..and yeah, i know the older nekromantix releases werent relative to this one because...

I think this album can stand up to any rockabilly album, forget limiting this album to the psychobilly genre. Of course this band is no Elvis Presley or Wanda Jackson, but I think they approach that level better than most any psychobilly band, and it would not be an embarassment to suggest the comparison. The fact that they sing about horrorific themes only makes things better, it really gives the music a fun twist.

The vocals on this album are great. The lead singer reminds me a bit of what Bob Dylan may have sounded like if he sang psychobilly, if you can imagine that... and the other backup vocalist reminds me of Glen Danzig somewhat.

The band is talented and plays with a lot of energy, and the songs are catchy. Even if you aren't a big fan of psycho horrorific themes, I think if you like rock and roll you should be able to appreciate this album.

First place in the Psychobilly charts. That's the place I would give to this record. If you like the style, you should have the record. "Alice in Psycholand", impossible to avoid.

This is one amazing album. The sound is very different than the sound of The well known Return of the loving dead. Its much faster and the lyrics are much deeper. Do your self a favor and pick up one of the best psychobilly albums ever. Keep on Wreckin!!!!

i love the nekromantix. i got into them about a year ago from a random purchase of "return of the loving dead."....that album grew on me like a vine...soon after, i went back out and forked over my last 20 for this album....regardless to say, it was a snooze-fest compared to "return."..and yeah, i know the older nekromantix releases werent relative to this one because after hearing the "brought back to life" album, this album still isnt too good...i give it three stars because of some clever brooding intros, a couple keepers and what not and the front cover and artwork is cool, but sadly this is a rather regressive piece of work....it sounded like demos or something..lets just say "brought back to life" is this album done ten times better.

if you are a die hard nekro fan, i 100% recommend this, but for me, ill stick with brought back to life, return, and dead girls dont cry...yes dead girls dont cry is pretty good! back off!

yeah, im sure this album could be knocked up a few "awesome notches" if the sound was remastered....why is it so freaking expensive if the sound quality sucks?

This is the best record that they ever put out! Forget that "Return of the Loving Dead"...on Hellcat Records. This is harder and way more evil. Makes me think they ran out of ideas after comparing this with their latest release...

3.0 out of 5 stars I DON'T GET IT..., September 7, 2003
This review is from: Curse of the Coffin (Audio CD)
I saw a T-shirt for these guys at the mall the other day. I was suprised to say the least. I bought this album back when it came out years ago, I didn't like it then, and time has not changed things. Not to say that this album has no redeeming value. The title track is pretty strong but, over all it is too punk, not enough billy. If you like the Brain Bats, or the Phantom Rockers you should like these guys. I personally would recommend Mad Sin "Survival of the Sickest" as a better investment. You'll thank me for it.
