Best Handwriting Curriculum Possible,
This review is from: Cursive Handwriting - Contracted Edition (Paperback)
The Handwriting Without Tears "HWT" cursive program permitted my high-functioning autistic third grader to get through his homework and schoolwork successfully. At age 8, homework took forever as he struggled to form letters and numbers legibly. The other third graders were learning cursive alphabetically. We worked through this workbook, one double page per day. Within three months, writing was still slow, but legible. We repeated the workbook, then moved on to "Cursive Success." Spelling practice was no longer a battle. And, he LIKED it (especially the illustrations and descriptions of how to form each letter). The directions are clear enough for a parent without special training to administer. I recommend for any child, and wish I had known about the printing program.

After struggling to teach the D'Nealian style of handwriting, I have found this book to be much easier for children to understand. It does not encourage slanted writing. But it does show how to easily connect the letters, which is what cursive means. Somewhat simplified, but that is probably okay. I like the workbook format. It teaches how to do handwriting with space to practice. I would use this in homeschooling and also as an enrichment tool at home for after-schoolers.

I do love these books. They are inexpensive, clear and can be 100% student-led. The style is not as pretty as some, but I have found that once my kids get the basics down they tend to embelish and make it their own anyway.

Nice Handwriting Book,

As a mom of a child who doesn't have beautiful handwriting and doesn't like to practice, I like this series. It's easy to teach and it's not filled with pages of writing the same letter over and over and over and over and...you get my point. The daily lessons are short and my son likes it.

Kids LIKE learning cursive!,

This review is from: Cursive Handwriting - Contracted Edition (Paperback)
My two oldest children, ages 13 and 14 always remember these lessons with a smile! "up,up,up like a helicopter!" How many children fondly remember learning cursive? This method really makes it fun, and it's fun to teach also.

I bought this book for my son, who has handwriting that needs improvement! He's been working daily in it for homeschooling, and does take more time to form his letters and make everything neater. I see improvement already!

These books are great for beginners and more advanced students. Each book takes the student step by step through the writing process with just the right amount of practice not to overwhelm the child.

This is a good book, however no better than those found at school stores. Not sure what I was expecting, however - my little lefthander is using it.

simple success,
This review is from: Cursive Handwriting - Contracted Edition (Paperback)
This series, both the printed writing and the cursive, are a gift for both child and parent. After your child sees their sucess, they do their work without complaint. My children quickly began to write in cursive without being prompted. I found I didn't need the teacher's guide, but a first-time homeschooling parent will order it anyway.
