5.0 out of 5 stars one side of the story, July 15, 2007

This review is from: Cursory remarks upon the Reverend Mr. Ramsay's Essay on the treatment and conversion of African slaves in the British sugar colonies (Paperback)
The title of this reprint tells already what it is about: a criticism on the essay of abolitionist James Ramsay who exposed the horrors of slavery. it is one of the central debates that preceded the anti-slavery movement and the secession of the british-american colonies. This shows at the same time the historical importance of this reprint as well as the need to reprint in the near future also the the other side of the story: Ramsay's essay, which at the moment is difficult to obtain.
