If you're an Eminem fan you have all of these songs already-- but the CD is worth buying simply for the single "When I'm Gone" alone. If you're an Eminem fan you have all of these songs already-- but the CD is worth buying simply for the single "When I'm Gone" alone. Eminem is known for riding the thin line between telling stories and telling HIS story, and he is never more introspective than in "When I'm Gone." Personally, I wish this CD consisted of more of those songs-- of the songs Eminem says he likes but not many else do (like "Rock Bottom" which never made it to a single). Instead he delivers an even mix of those ("Mockingbird," "Lose Yourself," "Like Toy Soldiers," "Cleanin Out My Closet," and "Way I Am") with his commercial "dance" hits like "My Name Is," "Real Slim Shady," "Without Me," and "Just Lose It." "Shake That" is one of the new songs that falls into that category, as is "Fack"...sort of..."Fack" is more like "Drips" than anything else, and I wonder what the clean version of the CD will have to compensate. Anyway, this dual disc version is the CD to get because Stan's Mixtape includes "Renagade--" the Eminem/Jay-Z song previously released only on Jay's "The Black Album." While all of the songs on Stan's Mixtape can be easily found on any downloading system on the net, it's just nice to have the tracklist all together. "Curtain Call" also includes the live Elton John performance of "Stan" as a Bonus Track, in addition to Dido's version so you can compare the two. Unfortunately, the live version is taken straight from the CBS telecast of the Grammys, and though the cheering and live audience has been removed from the track, it is still the "broadcast suitable" version and therefore bleeped. Eminem is a powerhous in hiphop, and "Curtain Call" is yet another chart topper for him. Hopefully he'll be back in the near future with new fresh tracks that sound a lot like "When I'm Gone" because that is definitely the stand-out of this CD, if not of his career in general.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oh Man Am I Ever Going To Get Bashed With This Review..., December 6, 2005
This review is from: Curtain Call - The Hits [2CD deluxe edition] (Audio CD)
Alright. Something I will never understnad is why people who hate Eminem must insist on writing negative reviews as if they are going to convince fans. Look, just because you rate an album one or two stars, doesn't mean that you are magically going to change someone's opinion about music. The whole point of reviewing is to provide someone else who has similar interests to see if the CD is worthwhile. That being said, I'm sure that anyone browsing this CD already owns some of Eminem's previous CDs or has heard his songs on the radio. This is a greatest hits package, so every song that was on the radio or talked about in the media is on here. New songs are included as well, like "When I'm Gone", which is a great song. If you are a casual fan and dont want to buy every album and end up with a lot of filler, this is a good buy. Sure it's not ground-breaking hip-hop or even really "music", but its fun and different. Thank You...

5.0 out of 5 stars Should Have Been 2 Full Discs, February 9, 2006
This review is from: Curtain Call - The Hits [2CD deluxe edition] (Audio CD)
A lot of my Slim Shady favorites are missing here, but it's still a good buy for those new to Eminem who dont wanna hunt for all these albums. Nas said it best, "Eminem murdered you own your own sh**" (about Renegade, which was on Jay-Z's album), which just goes to show how great of a rapper Eminem is.

His first 3 albums were all perfect, but if you dont wanna buy all of those definitely get this release.

4.0 out of 5 stars It would have been a 5 if "Fack" wasnt on it, March 5, 2006
This review is from: Curtain Call - The Hits [2CD deluxe edition] (Audio CD)
Okay, i love most of the songs on it and I love em, but Fack just is terrible, it's the worst song I've ever heard before. I recommend just buying all 4 of his CDs (Contain most of these songs), downloading "When I'm Gone", buying The Blueprint (Which has an ill song from Curtain Call, "Renagade", and is just a great album).

4.0 out of 5 stars FACK IS THE WORST EMINEM SONG YET, December 6, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Curtain Call - The Hits [2CD deluxe edition] (Audio CD)
Okay I'm a big eminem fan. I own all of his albums including his stuff before signed on with Interscope. I also am a huge fan of his radio station, Shade 45 on Sirius....

but the track, FACK is just a totally retarded song. I heard it on Shade 45 the other day and couldn't believe that it was actually one of his songs. I just think it doesn't sound good and is just purely retarded.

Anyway, besides that track...the rest on this cd are great. This is an excellent collection of some of the best eminem songs.

Overall....great cd and the bonus Stan's Mixtape is hot.

5.0 out of 5 stars eminem's greatest hits, December 6, 2005
This review is from: Curtain Call - The Hits [2CD deluxe edition] (Audio CD)
i think this was one of the best greatest hits i have heards besides 2pacs. The only problem with this is the song Just Lose It. He has better songs than that which should have been on the cd. I think Bad Guys Always Die ft Dr Dre would have made a great addition to this collecton

4.0 out of 5 stars A MUST HAVE for every Eminem fan, November 19, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Curtain Call - The Hits [2CD deluxe edition] (Audio CD)
I first heard Eminem's music in a Toronto dance club. (The Real Slim Shady) My dad has the album but wouldn't let me listen to it. A couple years later I bought this album and I loved it. It has all the major songs: The Real Slim Shady, The Way I am, My Name Is, Lose Yourself, Without Me, Sing For the Moment and many many more here is a list:

Intro: Who cares?

FACK: 8/10: How the FACK can you say that this song sucks? Ha ha... It's so facking hilarious!

The Way I Am: 7/10: Good single but could have been replaced with higher chart toppers.

My Name Is: 9/10. An execellent debut single. Disgusting but funny, and creative at the same time.

Stan: 10/10: In my opinion, one of Em's greatest. It's a mysterious song and Dido provides a great chorus.

Lose Yourself: 10/10: Another one of Eminem's greatest. Very inspiring.

Shake That: 6/10: It's alright... Good beat but it give me a headache for some reason...

Sing For The Moment: 9.5/10: A very powerful song. Great Lyrics.

Without Me: 8.5/10: the Eminem Show opening single. Funny song but not as good as My Name Is or The Real Slim Shady.

Like Toy Soilders: 8/10: There is a lot of meaning in this song.

The Real Slim Shady: 10/10: This is where Eminem began for me. Possibly one of my favorite songs.

Mockingbird: 7/10: Bueatiful Song but not as good as Hailie's Song from the Eminem Show. (It wasn't a hit however.)

Guilty Conscience: 9/10: An Eminem oringinal. Very Funny.

Cleanin Out my Closet: 8/10: Eminem expresses his hatred towards his mother is a... WELL mannered way...

Just Lose It: 1/5: Just lose this song, I tell you!

When I'm Gone: 7/10: Okay, but I don't really like Eminem using his heavier rapping voice as much as his 1999-2002 accent.

Stan (live):4/10: Elton John ruins a hip hop classic!

If you love Eminem, you'll love this. Okay, so it's missing some of his other singles.(I don't have the 2 disc edition) I do wish they DID put on some of his other good singles such as Superman, Just Don't Give a F**k, Mosh, Forgot About Dre(too bad it's under Dr. Dre's name...) and a couple others. If you want to get all of them then buy his 4 previous albums and the 8 mile sountrack(although it's a waste of money in case you dislike a lot of the songs). You could also buy the Notorious B.I.G.s song off itunes same with Jay Z's Renegrede, and Dr. Dre's Forgot about Dre of get the 2001 album cause Em stars on that numerous times as well. But like I said, all his major stuff is here. I hope you enjoy it like I did.

5.0 out of 5 stars Em's Hits, September 16, 2006
This review is from: Curtain Call - The Hits [2CD deluxe edition] (Audio CD)
As people should know, a greatest hits collection is supposed to be all the songs that became singles, and not just peoples favourites. They have managed to include all the hits from Em's solo albums which is great. Then the bonus mixtape had some great songs that I hadn't heard before. It's such a pity that Em is retiring because his done such a lot of good for hip hop. In fact Em is not only by far the best white rapper ever, but he is one of the best if not the best rapper out there today. This CD shows you what he was all about. There are those comedic songs like Just Lose It and The Real Slim Shady which are great but nothing beats Em's emotional tracks. Such as Mockingbird, Like Toy Soldiers, Lose Yourself and When I'm Gone.

If you have just got into Eminem than his greatest hits would be a great place to start. Of course these are not his only good songs, his solo albums are full of goodness.

5.0 out of 5 stars this album deserves 10 stars! get the 2 CD edition! way better!, January 23, 2006
This review is from: Curtain Call - The Hits [2CD deluxe edition] (Audio CD)
this special edition has "stan's mixtape" and all the songs there are awesome. if you're thinking about getting "curtain call" by eminem, then go with this edtion. Much better value for you're hard-earned dough.

All the songs are from his previous albums, except for "shake that" and "fack"

if you're an eminem fan, this album won't dissapoint. But it should've included the song ENCORE with dre and fitty cent.
