Product Description

Kitchen prep is now incredibly easy with the Curtis Stone 'Workbench' Cutting Board that lets you chop ingredients and scrape them directly into 3 built-in measuring cups to store ready for cooking. The 22" x 14" block cutting board features a handy pull-out stainless-steel drawer that stores scraps to keep your cutting board hygienically clean as you work. Crafted from beautiful end-grain Victorian ash, an Australian hardwood grown on an eco-sustainable plantation, the thick cutting board offers an easy-clean surface for everyday slicing and cutting. The cutting board with scrap bin tackles small kitchen tasks like quickly mincing onions or bigger prep jobs like chopping a dinner party's worth of stir-fry veggies and meats. An included 18/10 stainless-steel Curtis Stone 'Pick Up' Scoop effortlessly transfers finely diced ingredients into the 1-cup measuring cups made of 18/10 stainless-steel. Solid hardwood 'Workbench' will not harm knife edges. Simple hand wash cleanup.

I never thought peeling and chopping vegetables could be so enjoyable and I promise you will actually look forward to doing your meal preparation. My 'Workbench' is a cutting board, food storage unit and waste disposal unit all in one. The 'Workbench' cuts down time, cuts back mess and helps you become a more effective and efficient cook.

4.0 out of 5 stars Smaller than expected January 25, 2013
By Eric
The work bench is built solidly and the chopping block is well treated with oils(smells nice too). However, I was a little disappointed with the quality of the chopping block. Considering the cost of this block, I expected perfection with the wood. The blocks are end cut which is good for a cutting board. The problem is 2 of those blocks should not have been used. They have knots in them that in time will likely shatter from heavy use. The knots were filled with some type of material but that's really not a good idea on a chopping block!

My wife is 5'8" and I am 6'2". Because of our height, our counters are built 1 1/2" taller than normal. With the added height of the counter and the additional thickness of the cutting board base, the board top is about at the maximum my wife could comfortably cut on the board. So the height is fine for us.

The board is fairly large, but not as large as I expected. Either way it is too large to store and will be kept in the same place on the kitchen island. The 3 cups and the disposal portion take up a large area of the cutting board area which does not leave as much area as I would have liked for chopping.

The center area under the board is not easily accessible. Another drawer for storage could have been added to the center, under the board. Now, if one wants to store items in the center area, one must first remove the 3 cups, then remove the cutting board from the 4 stainless steel posts that keep it solidly on the base. The center portion is then accessible. It's large enough for a cheese cutting board, and a few small items to be stored in the space.

The 1 cup holders have measurements written on them but are really just over 3/4 cup. Nice size though for prepping.

Excellent product, excellent craftsmanship. Unfortunately we had to send it back. I didn't pay attention to the dimensions and there is no place in our kitchen where we could easily and comfortably put the block to use regularly. Also very heavy so an older person might have difficulty moving it. It's a piece that deserves its own space and used regularly. We just don't have that space...
