I was waiting for this book to become available and was not disappointed when I received it. It would take an advanced modeler to take advantage of all the pages in this excellent book, but, what ever level a modeler is, they will appreciate the photographic quality as seen in the Verlinden publications and the color profiles printed in the Osprey series.
What sets this from the others is the extra detail and steps demonstrated on how to arrive at the desired results instead of simply showcasing what the author can achieve.

This is a well illustrated book (all color) that covers a handful of buildups of the famous Curtiss P-40. This has been translated from French so there are some interesting interpretations of hobby terms. For example decals are listed as "motifs" in the book. This is more amusing than annoying. Most of the buildups are of the excellent 1/48 scale Hasegawa P-40 series. Three out of the four projects are of this kit but it is the best kit of the Warhawk in that scale so that is not an issue at all. There is one project on the Monogram P-40B but again that is still the most accurate "B" model in 1/48 scale. The two authors superdetail these kits inside and out and the results are stunning and lavishly illustrated with tons of photos. I learned some valuable techniques for my own models. If you like the P-40 or really any second world war fighter, I highly recommend this book.
