5.0 out of 5 stars CONVINCING, FRESH WORK
Among the several books that have been written on the subject, this one seems to be most convincing. The book talks about the subject in a way that makes sense.

Left by an old girlfriend so I gave it a read. The guy is no doctor but is well-informed and uses some medical science and mostly his own experience as a gym owner helping many women lose weight.

The exercise program is reasonable, less than an hour three times a week. Cardio to burn fat and resistance to build muscle and hence raise metabolism. Hardly revolutionary. But in line with current thinking on fitness and weight loss. He says exercise alone will be enough for most women. Not sure I agree with that. In fact I don't. Most people need dietary changes. I think the muscle part is more important than cardio too if fat loss is your goal.

Diet part is his own spin on low-carb. Many will do well with exercise and simply cutting out the empty carbs. Agree. The empty calories in sugars and bleached white grains just add calories and jack up insulin without much nutritional bang.

The more Atkins level is temporary to lose weight quickly and for those having a hard time losing weight. There also is the idea of cycling diet and weight. The starvation response of the body is addressed. He even gives good advice on fats, in line with the most current research. Finally, his idea of never letting your weight slip up by more than a few pounds is a great idea. This is where most people re-gain.

Overall nothing earth-shattering, but a program you can follow and get results. Not too complicated. Not that hard to follow as far as these diets and exercise routines go.
