At my workplace we had a person speak to us about ergonomics. He changed our work stations to fit our bodies. One thing that happened was that my feet were left dangling from my chair (I'm rather short). He said I needed to get an adjustable foot rest.
So I scoured the internet. I didn't want something that would be big and plastic. Most of the models seemed to be like that. I chose this because it can be flipped upside down. Now that I have this footrest, this is how I keep it. I rock my feet often. I like that it's soft, too. I am able to get it very close to my chair, if I want it that way. The foam is just the right thickness, and I think it's great that the fabric can be washed. I love this product!

Padded Foot Rest,
I've had two other footrests that cost twice as much. This one is the best, most comfortable, easy to use, and most affordable.

Believe it or not, my first experience with this foot rest was when I was breast-feeding my children. It was recommended in the baby books to help you get your feet (and your lap) in the right position to support the baby.
But after I returned to work, I took this with me and have been using it ever since. I like using both sides depending on whether I feel like rocking my feet or if I just want to have a solid foundation. The nice thing is that it isn't cold (I kick off my shoes at work), it doesn't break, it isn't limited in the number of positions it can take... it is just a lo-tech piece of foam that makes your life more comfortable... what more could you ask for! It even makes a good lap pillow for supporting a heavy book while reading. Forget all the fancy "massaging" footrests and just go this one. You'll have everything you need.
