Custer Legends by Dr.Lawrence A. Frost, May 17, 2009
This review is from: Custer Legends (Hardcover)
Custer Legends is a book any student of history who happens to be addicted to subject of Gen. G.A. Custer will NEED to have in his/her library. Written by the late Dr. Frost, who was the preeminant Custer historian of our time, it is a excellent reference tool when another of those "legends" pop up in articles and modern books. Did Custer really send a $10,000 bill to his church for a 20 mile train ride? The "Let's have a fair fight" incident at West Point is detailed. Did Rain in the Face really carry out his threat against Tom Custer? Was there a white survivor of the Little Big Horn battle? All these questions and much more are chronicled and discussed in a thorough and scholarly manner. I cannot reccomend this book highly enough.
