Book Description

February 2000 Legal Survival Guides
This new edition includes such current topics as parental kidnapping and child support enforcement. Most parents think that once a decree for support has been ordered, all is over. However, oftentimes that is just the beginning. Getting the support that was mandated, in the amount that was stated, in the manner that was determined necessary and in the time indicated are often major issues that must be continually confronted for the good of the children.

The inclusion of an expanded glossary of terms, plus easy-to-use, blank, tear-out forms makes this new edition a must for every person who has children and has gone through a divorce or for those who are contemplating a divorce.

Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

Self-help books like attorney Boland's are a mainstay of many libraries because of the unique information they offer. Boland addresses parents frustrated in their efforts to secure child custody and visitation rights. In a well-organized text, she describes all the legal issues affecting the balance between the rights of parents and those of the child. Problems such as child kidnapping, financial support, and determining custody are discussed, and the author describes how child custody and visitation cases should be prepared and provides examples of various legal forms to help parents with their cases. An appendix offers a state-by-state summary of laws applicable to custody and child support. Though not an easy read for a self-help book, this work does contain important information to help prepare parents facing their own unique custody and visitation issues. Recommended for all public libraries.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not your rights, it's your children's rights, January 7, 2009
Just like a lawyer. Just the facts. No heart or soul. No variation from what Attorney Boland is involved with in her day to day practice. This book does nothing to make a very hard problem any easier to handle. No new information.
