5.0 out of 5 stars Great product for cleaning home water distillers or removing hard water scales, April 29, 2010

This review is from: Custom Building Prod. TLSAC1 Sulfamic Acid Cleaner (Misc.)
I primarily use this Sulfamic acid to clean my Waterwise water distiller, Sulfamic acid is also tops for removing hard water mineral deposits and scales. In a nutshell; Sulfamic acid is 'vinegar', but unlike the vinegar you buy in the grocery store, this Tile Lab Sulfamic acid is 100%, store bought vinegar is <5% Sulfamic acid.

Anyone that has a home water distiller knows, after the distillation process you end up with a hard as a rock deposit of minerals, so hard you could scrub for 5 hours with a Brillo pad and it will still be there, with Sulfamic acid, a couple tablespoons and some water, you just let it sit an hour or two and the minerals wipe away with a sponge.

Without Sulfamic acid, I would buy water for my home water cooler from Culligan, I wouldn't bother making it my self, although my water after distillation is better than theirs. :)

Regards

Sam

PS, Sulfamic acid can clean tough water stains and helps when you have calcium deposits say in the bathtub or shower. If you soak a shower head in this Sulfamic acid, it will unclog the mineral deposits clogging the holes. The only downside with Sulfamic acid is that I cannot buy it locally, but that's not such a bad thing.
