Custom Dual Laminate Teeth Night Grinding Guard

The company is correct in describing the 2 step process of making the mold, then they send you the night guard. Unfortunately, the night guard does not align with my teeth. It is slightly smaller than my mouth so my front teeth sit on the edge of the guard.

I emailed Sporting Smiles' Customer Service and they responded the guard is tight "like a new pair of shoes" but I should keep wearing it for a few weeks. Well, the night guard is plastic and does not stretch like leather shoes! My teeth are numb and very sensitive throughout the day from forcing the ill-fitted guard into my mouth. The company initially offered to add a "spacer" to help the guard fit better if I continued to have problems. I have sent several follow-up emails and Sporting Smiles has not answered any of my emails. They do not offer a telephone number so there's no live person for me to speak with and no mailing address provided so there's no one to whom I can write a letter.

Extremely poor customer service and a waste of money. I've spent $70 on a night guard that I cannot use because it is painful and doesn't fit. Better off paying a real dentist for a night guard that is guaranteed to fit. I have had my original night guard for over 15 years! You get what you pay for!

Three years ago, my dentist recommended a night guard for my night grinding. He sent the molds to the Lab in the same building and they sent me a bill for $575. This past year I had three dental implants. Because of the implants, my old night guard wouldn't fit anymore, and so my dentist recommended another night guard. He said the Lab next door could make me one for $625. I told him I would check out alternatives. I tried two over the counter brands which were a total waste of money and then I went on Amazon and found Sporting Smiles. They sent me the molding materials and tray that week. The instructions were easy to follow. I sent the impressions back and in about a week, my night guard arrived. It is terrific! It fits snugly over my upper teeth, which makes me feel secure since I know it won't dislodge in the middle of the night. I can talk and swallow normally. It is light weight and it feels smooth and comfortable. Thank you Sporting Smiles!

Initially, I was not happy with this product as it took weeks to get here and I wrote a negative report. However, a week after I wrote the report, my neighbor stopped by and said that he had this package for me that had been delivered to his home by mistake but due to the fact that he'd not found me home, did not leave it at my door for fear of it being stolen. So, that negative report was not accurate and also, since I've been using the product, I have learned a few things:
- The guard was very tight at first and caused some gum and tooth discomfort but I kept wearing it and slowly it conformed top my mouth and fits great now. Kinda like getting used to a new pair of shoes and after a while, they fit just fine.
- I had been cleaning my guard with toothpaste and a brush every morning but it began to yellow. So, I bought a dental appliance/denture cleanening product and now put one cap full of this product and hot water into a glass and put my guard into that bath every morning and then at night, just rinse it off and install it. BTW: it is white/transluscent again and smells great.
- I've really witnessed how much I grind my teeth as the bottom of the guard is getting chewed up by my bottom teeth so having this guard is truly protecting my teeth.
In the end, this product as turned the corner and I'm very happy with it. I just hope that SportingSmiles stays in contact with me so that when I've worn this one out, I'll remember who to reorder from.

I'm very impressed with my new night guard; I got the combination soft inner/hard outer plastic. I've used it for a few days, and it is working great! It does seem a little snug at first, but in my opinion, that's a good thing. I had a problem with the "boiled" nightguards shifting around at night, but this one stays right on my top teeth. It creates a vacuum seal on there, so removing it is easiest by getting a corner and sort of peeling it from the end.

After spending way too much money on a crown (due to grinding), this is a really affordable investment for the quality!

I ordered this product around Christmas time. I had been using a professionally made night guard for years because I grind my teeth. I had broken my night guard and needed a replacement that I could afford. I ordered this kit and it came promptly and was easy to make a mold of my upper teeth and pallet. I got my new guard within the amount of time they say it takes and used it that night.

I decided that the guard with the soft silicone would be best for me since the hard night guard sounded like it was very thin and I might grind through it too quickly. I wish they made a thicker hard night guard since the soft silicone seems to give a bit too much and sometimes I wake up with my jaw and back teeth aching a bit. I think the hard surface would be better for me. But over all I think this is a good product at an affordable price. The (Cheap) boiling type mouth guards might work well for sports but for a night guard they did not work for me.

I am sooooo thrilled with this product. It was fast, easy, simple and Cheap!!! My dentist wanted $1000 for the same thing, and my insurance would not cover it. The company ships you a mold with instructions that was surprisingly easy, with a return shipping box so there is no other worries to it. When I received it I tried it on and it fit perfectly, I have worn it for a week now and it is so comfortable I don't even notice it is in. I was very happy as I have tried other night guards and over the counter products that are uncomfortable and I ultimately don't want to wear. The company also keeps your mold for up to a year if you need a replacement or additional piece, which could happen to me because with my other night guard my 3 year old dropped it in the drain. I would definitely recommend!!

The product looks like a good quality but it was a poor fit. The company did not respond to any of my email and I had to dispute this with credit card company. The guard is hard composite and does not give.

My dentist has made three night guards for me over the past five years, got a little expensive!!! This is the forth and first guard from SportingSmile. I've only used the guard for three nights but I'm very satified with it. It's comfortable even though the material is thicker than that used in the other guards so it should last longer. The guard fits as well or better than the units made by my dentist so I do not see any issues with using it every night. In the future if I need a replacement, SportingSmile has got my business because the price and quality are right on target. Instructions for making the impression need a little more verbiage.

I placed my order, 4 days later I got the mold kit, mixed the 2 items, pressed it in, sent it back,
Just over 2 weeks later I got it back

the pic is deceiving, in truth the product is Much Smaller, it fits perfectly, I had my doubts when I first got it, it looked like it would fall off, but I put it on, and it forms such a tight suction, that I needed 2 hands to get it off,

I have used the 30$ night guards from the pharmacy before, I always ended up taking them out as they were so uncomfortable, not this, fits like a glove,

as to how long it will last, time will tell, seems like it should last at least 1 year, and since the ones from the pharmacy wore out in less than 1 month, it is a very good deal
