The glove to have for framers.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Custom LeatherCraft 140L Pro Framer Glove, Large (Tools & Home Improvement)
These are the gloves to have if you are a framer. Finger tips are exposed so you can feel nails or the buttons on your cell phone. These gloves are extremely tough, yet after a minute of wearing them you forget they are there. I highly recomend these to anyone who wants a high quality glove.

Ive always been a fan of framer gloves, just having two fingers and a thumb free doesn't compromise protection and gives me some added dexterity that i wouldn't have if i had full fingered gloves.
CLC seems to make the best high quality and very durable. I've taken a pair through hell and back and they still hold together very well, and since those fingers are open i don't have to take them off to get to the little stuff.

First off, I hate wearing gloves. I like being able to "feel" the material I'm working with. With the current trend in commercial construction, I had resigned myself to being forced to wear the latest foam type rubber gloves that allowed you a layer of protection while giving you a decent amount of tactile manipulation. These gloves go way beyond that. Yes, you end up having two finger tips and the end of your thumb exposed but the durability and comfort of the rest of the glove provides a huge amount of protection. They fit like a glove should fit! These gloves will not melt onto you when they come in contact with hot material (I'm a plumber so I'm always soldering and brazing, they would probably burn up in a welding environment). They are comfortable to wear and they allow you to pick up or manipulate the material you're working on.
After a month of constant day to day use the only complaint I have is that they begin to smell a little ripe. You'll need an extra pair to allow for washing and drying. The gloves themselves are holding up wonderfully with no noticeable wear and tear. These are a pair of gloves that you find yourself looking to put on after break rather than being forced to wear them.

My husband wears these gloves for forklift driving. In his warehouse he has to be able to type on a very small keyboard. With these gloves his hands are protected as well as able to type. They also wear far better than others we have found, granted we have to cut the tips of the others off, but these wear better in all areas of the glove better than the competition. Also, they are hard to find, we were thrilled to find them at your site, and for less than at Home Depot where we had been buying them.

I just purchased a second pair of these great gloves. The first pair actually lasted through two years of heavy framing use. Pretty impressive. I don't know of any work glove that will last that long. The gloves protect your hands very well and are fairly comfortable and form fitted, maintaining a high level of dexterity.
On the down side... I noticed that the styling has changed a bit, with the thumb hole being larger in the newer gloves (both pair in size large). The two cut-off fingers are slightly longer as well. I ended up snagging material a few times with that larger thumb hole. These changes are not really a big deal. They just didn't seem to work as well for me. The fit is critical for the best performance. If possible, I would recommend trying on a pair before ordering to make sure you maintain that trim fit. I usually wear large work gloves and, with these, I'm right on the border between medium and large (according to the included sizing card that the gloves come attached to).

Needed the wrist cuff to keep debris out along with an adjustable
wrist strap for snug fit and easy-on, easy off. Wanted a fabric like leather for duribility and comfort with textured grip palm pads for better grip, extra wear and durability Also, needed the half finger design for complete fingertip dexterity. |
