5.0 out of 5 stars Electricians Pouch, August 2, 2005
This review is from: Custom LeatherCraft 1526 23 Pocket Electrical and Maintenance Tool Pouch (Tools & Home Improvement)
Excellent item for any and all electricians. Perfect for frequently used tools. Tray in bottom of pouch is great for wire nuts, screws, and small items. Easy to carry and have all necessary items right at your fingertips.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good tool bag..., January 9, 2007
This review is from: Custom LeatherCraft 1526 23 Pocket Electrical and Maintenance Tool Pouch (Tools & Home Improvement)
This bag is great. I was taken in by the compartment underneath with the storage box. I store bushings, wirenuts, screws, rawl plugs, bx connects, etc. The dividers can be removed to make for bigger space. The only thing that I was a little bit disappointed about was the depth of the bag. It was not as deep as I assumed when I purchased it. It holds all my tools very secure but some of them stick out a little high. Overall I am pleased with this bag and is a great edition for any electrician.

4.0 out of 5 stars If you need to grab things quick..., September 13, 2006
This review is from: Custom LeatherCraft 1526 23 Pocket Electrical and Maintenance Tool Pouch (Tools & Home Improvement)
...this is for you, to spite how much crap you can cram in it as long as you arrange it right it's all pretty accessible.

I've done new construction electrical work before and this is a nice bucket style bag. Good and tough with a strong big handle that's easy on the hands. It has all the pockets and openings someone in the new construction needs for hand tools (Various size, and type pliers and screw drivers). And the slid out multi compartment tray is perfect for keeping plastic anchors and screws (good for when I install enclosures in brick), plate cover screws (in case I drop them down the unfinished duct work), long device screws (incase the sheet rockers where sloppy when cutting out the boxes), regular device screws in case there are some missing, small (orange) wire nuts (the extra ones I collect so I don't have to use the more expensive and much bigger ones for finish jobs) and about anything else you can fit in there.

I can fit a hole nut driver set (short), small to large Philips and flat head set (short), a flat, philips and square end speed driver (the screw driver that twist), a couple long screw drivers, a couple "knob" screw drivers, fold out Allen set, hand held cable cutters, wire cutters, regular long nose pliers, general purpose crimper, small pvc pipe cutters, two 10" ~channel lock~ pliers, side cutting pliers, a couple small long thing pliers, key hole saw, scratch awl, various markers, a role of black, white, green and rubber tape (with room for more), skinning knife, razor knife and general purpose multi meter and a few other small things i think (:p).

And there is still a little room on top on the pile in the center poket to shove whatever long ways. The net pouches on the side could stretch a little more than they do, and they could have flared and stiffened the bottom so it won't tip over in the truck or when I side swipe it under a house, and made the side pockets a little deeper.

I have found them as low as $20 at supply houses, but still not bad.

I will be using this bag for toting around stuff I use in finding old surveyors' marks.

The bag is roomy. The center portion is divided in thirds. The two side portions are further subdivided into flexible "pockets," while the center part is open. The center part is 6.5" deep (sitting on top of the lower compartment which can house the plastic odds-and-ends case; that compartment is an additional 2.5" deep). The open center compartment holds my camera and a large pair of gloves.

I uploaded a couple of photos of my bag packed full. Those orange stakes stuck into it are 11" tall. I don't carry "normal" tools (pliers, small screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.), but it does a fine job of holding my tape measures, my laser measurement tool, my GPS, clippers, etc. I also like the zippered pocket that covers one side--good for holding my notebook and datasheets.

I also tried out their Model 1509 tool bag, which is much more shallow (almost like a bike messenger's bag). The 1509 zips closed and would be better at carrying papers, but lacks the ability to carry larger items (for example, a good sized power tool).

The handle is very sturdy, and the shoulder strap (fully extended) can be slung over my neck and shoulder for "hands-free" transit. The big d-rings at the handle can serve as attach points for things with cords or straps.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, but want a model without the handle, July 15, 2007
This review is from: Custom LeatherCraft 1526 23 Pocket Electrical and Maintenance Tool Pouch (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have a similar model, pretty much exactly the same but without the tray. If I had known this existed, I would have bought that one instead. The model I own is the only one the local corporate supplier had. What a great bag! I'm an Apprentice Electrician, and this fits everything I need except a pole. Nice smaller pockets for my Flash Drive to hold digital versions of books, study guides, and my Apprentice Hour logs, without fear of being damaged. You can easily reach anything in this bag, except for large items like a composition book (for notes) in the center, because the handle is in the way. I wish you could remove the handle, as I always use the bag with a rolling cart or the shoulder strap instead.

A very nice bag to hold tools for elect. work. I liked it so much that I bought one so that I could set up a tool bag for phone and cable T.V. work. This bag has plenty of pockets, is compact and is not too heavy.

Its a nice bag, I keep some frequently used maintenance tools in there...just wish it was a tad taller so that larger screwdrivers and tools could be carried more securely. ( It does have some stretchable straps on the 4 smaller compartments which make it ok for screwdrivers...but still...a tad deeper would be better for someone with a lot of large long tools...heh

anyhow....its a good bag...like the little plastic box for small wire connectors etc.... I wire tie my meters and a couple of small zippered bags to the exterior so I can carry more junk.

Use it in abusive industrial envoronments and it has helf up good for the time I have used it.

This is an excellent tool bag with lots of pockets for tools and a tray where you can put wire nuts, and spades for various projects. You want to watch yourself, it has so many pockets that you could load yourself down and it'll be heavy to pack.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Handyman Tool Bag, December 12, 2011

This review is from: Custom LeatherCraft 1526 23 Pocket Electrical and Maintenance Tool Pouch (Tools & Home Improvement)
I've had this bag for a couple of weeks now and love it. It is a nice size with lots of pockets for screwdrivers, pliers, cutters, etc. The center pocket is large enough to hold my 19 volt Dewalt drill. I've just begun filling the plastic parts storage container with wire nuts and miscellaneous stuff. I really like the open ready access to my tools. I have other tool bags where I have to dig through all the tools at the top to find the tool that I need (always on the bottom). I use the top handle and didn't need the carry strap. The construction looks like it should last the home handyman for many years.
