Product Description

C-Loop Camera Strap Mount Color : Silver or Black Eliminate Strap Interference: Quicker access, flexibility and improved handling. Smooth Rotation: The C-Loop swivels 360 degrees to reduce tangling and for smooth panning Low Profile: Makes it easier to transition from landscape to portrait shots Increased Security: Lens comfortably tucks away making mobility easy in tight or crowded areas Compatibility: Works with existing camera straps and all devices with a tripod mount C-Loop is truly a sweet, "why did not I think of that?" solution. We designed the C-Loop in response to how the traditional top mounted camera strap always gets in the way. By relocating the mounting position to the bottom of the camera and integrating a swivel, we discovered numerous benefits that improved the shooting experience when using a camera strap. One of the best upgrades for your camera. Made in USA.

A really cool idea from custom SLR and the mount works well. I placed it on the camera and it is a nice way to have the strap connected to the body. I would give functionality 5 stars overall but I am giving 4 stars for my review due to price. It is a little pricey at $40 and would consider buying a few more once they halve the price.

I initially bought the Custom SLR Camera Glide Strap with Split Strap and used it with the BlackRapid FastenR I already had. While that worked, the BlackRapid fastener doesn't swivel and has a single loop for attachment. The Custom SLR C-Loop has two attachment loops, which matches the Glide Strap, and it both swivels smoothly and has a nice fold-down handle for tightening and removing. Yes, it's more expensive than some others I have seen but it's also nicer and allows my camera to hang just right.

I would not recommend using the C-Loop with strap systems that have a single attachment clip, such as the BlackRapid.

So, yes, its expensive. And yes, buy the glide strap, which is also expensive.

I can carry my 7D, with the Canon 100-400L on it... and it's EASY to carry.

The BIGGEST MOST AWESOME feature is the lack of a "strap in the face" over the eye piece when shooting in portrait mode. I HATED that. This gear WILL help you "get the shot" before its gone as you fight with your stupid old neck strap.

Did I mention its comfortable too? Really almost no stress at the end of a day of shooting.

Construction is top notch. Quality is outstanding. I could most likely use this to tow a boat if if I had to.

Did I mention its expensive? Then again, how much is your camera and lens worth? Want it hitting the ground after saving a few bucks with "brand "X""? Not me.

The swivel is really well made. I did find that after a few weeks of hard use, it "squeaked" a little as it twisted under load on my hip. I carefully added a DROP of graphite lube, silent - and has been for a month now.

Two issues that could be problems or pains for some people -

1- This mounts on the tripod mount. So in order to mount to a tripod/monopod, you must remove the CSLR mount. They do make an adapter for this issue, but it costs more money. My lenses use tripod rings when I'm in the need for a tripod.. so this is a non issue, but it could be for others.

2 - Since this bolts to the underside of the camera - the camera can't sit level on a surface anymore That was a nice feature I liked to do when I need some basic stabilization.

I got this back when they were trying to get their business off the ground with Kickstarter. I liked it so much that when they met their goal and went into production, I got a second one. Whatever strap you use, having the camera hang down from the C-loop is usually much more ergonomic than the traditional top-of-the-camera attachment points. The product is definitely very secure. I do have a couple of criticisms. One is that with it attached, it becomes difficult to just set the camera down on a flat surface. If you want to set it up on a flat surface to take a photo in the absence of a tripod, you have to remove the C-loop. Also, if you're just setting the camera down for a minute, you have to be careful to pick it up by the camera and not by the strap - otherwise it will pull from the bottom and flip the camera as you pick it up, possibly banging the lens. That is, you can't just grab your camera by the strap as you're running out the door. Another criticism has to do with the rubber washer that sits between the C-loop and the camera. I have 2 C-loops, a black and a silver one. On the black one, the washer stays put without a problem. On the silver one, it seems that every time I remove the C-loop, the washer manages to slip off the threaded part and get itself lost in the camera bag. Thus far I've been able to find it each time, but it should definitely be more snug so as not to come off on its own like that. I'm guessing that some glue would be a sufficient DIY solution. Overall, a great product! Not taking any stars off for the price because really, what is it worth to you to have vastly improved handling of your camera in the field?

Update: I used a bit of Gorilla Glue to glue the rubber washer, and has stayed put!

Who knew that this little device could work wonders! After reading and watching many reviews on this product, I finally decided to purchase one. I don't regret the purchase at all! In fact, I wonder why I didn't buy this earlier. However, the reason I gave it four stars as opposed to five is because of the price. That was the factor that held me back for so long. The C-loop is designed so well, and it's not cheaply made. I shot a wedding with the C-loop, and it was so much easier to access my camera. In a wedding situation, that extra second it takes to grab and pull up my camera makes all the difference between getting the shot and not getting it. I would highly recommend the C-loop. If the price is what's causing you to hesitate, just buy it! I promise you won't regret it.

I love the idea and concept, but twice my camera has drop to the concrete when using this.
First, the strap slowly loosened over time and my camera smashed to the ground damaging my body and lens.
The other time happened with this mount.
You need to constantly check to see if all the fittings are tight.
