Product Description

A camera strap that does more with less. This breathable strap is a lightweight, versatile and comfortable alternative to traditional straps. Designed with you in mind, the Air Strap is made for anyone -- not just professional photographers -- who wants an easy-to-use strap that can adapt to different situations. With its unique quick-adjust slider, you can keep your camera secure at your side to maneuver through crowds and tight spaces; when you need to take a photo, just pull and slide to extend the strap. With our optional attachment, you can snap the Air Strap onto anything with hooks -- a laptop bag, a gym bag, a fishing bag, etc. -- for an instant upgrade. Use the Air Strap with the C-Loop Camera Strap Mount for a camera strap system that doesn't tangle or get in the way.

Might not be for everyone, but it works pretty well for me.

Unlike many customers, I don't have a big fat heavy DSLR that's in desperate need of support: I ditched my DSLRs several years ago and converted to lighter-weight, smaller mirrorless micro 4/3 cameras. I bought this strap for a particular purpose: I often go bicycling, and wanted a comfortable strap for one of my smaller mu-43/Micro Four Thirds cameras (a Panasonic Lumix GX1, with a 14mm 'pancake' Panasonic lens mounted on it, all in all quite a small camera/lens combo). The goal: to be able to wear the camera slung around my back in a relatively tight (but comfortable) fit for biking - but also to have an instantly-adjustable strap so that, if I want to stop and take a picture of anything, I yank yank on the strap and it'll 'extend' for photographing - but then yank on it again (in the other direction, obviiously) and have it 'cinch up' back to a comfortable/tighter fit for biking.

And guess what? CustomSLR's 'Air Strap' does exactly that.

It also does it in a comfortable, clever, and ingenious fashion.

I'm not going to bore whoever's reading this with details about how it works. You can read them in the product description - or on CustomSLR's website - or see the strap 'in action' on several excellent YouTube videos - or read Mike Pasini's thorough and excellent review of it on his website (which I did before buying, and helped me decide on this strap). But, basically, the strap does what it's supposed to - provide a comfortable but tighter fit for walking/biking/running/x-CSkiing/Whatever - but then loosening at a simple tug to give the user/photographer plenty of room to take pictures.

It's such a cool product I decided to write this review - and I pretty much never write reviews.

I do not consider myself a professional photographer. But with my DSLR in hand, I feel like one. I’ve always been the kind of point and shoot adventurer who likes lugging around a professional-grade camera when am out gathering new experiences.

I recently upgraded to this Air Strap from CustomSLR because I’ve heard so many good things about the quality of the brand. Sure enough, the Air Strap was everything it is advertised to be- lightweight, ergonomic and universal, attaching to any kind of bag or camera. I had no difficulty hooking it up to either my camera bag or camera. But the thing I liked most is the fabric. On a hot summer day when the midday sun is at its hottest, the strap helped my shoulder stay comfortable throughout a whole day of shooting. The moisture wicking fabric provides adequate ventilation to prevent any build up of sweat.

The quick adjust-slider is intuitive, allowing quick length adjustments between carrying the camera, and taking actual photographs.

I’d recommend the Air Strap. Not because of the brand that creates it, but because it is the only strap you’ll ever need for your camera, and/or bag.

To speak the truth, I was skeptical of the usefulness of this air strap, and here is what i discovered!

This air strap eases the carriage of a DSLR, a camera or basically any kind of bag.

It is light weight, adjustable with the swiveling buckles lending it a degree of flexibility that is hard to find in these kinds of products.

The fabric used is especially likeable, with the breathable vents that make the strap sit snugly on any shoulder without exerting any effort regardless of the weight that it is carrying.

Pretty decent camera strap. Might not be for everyone, but it works pretty well for me. Coming from an OpTech Super Classic Strap, this one doesn't seem quite as well made or as strong in some areas, but the strap pad is slightly wider and just as comfortable, and it's still plenty strong that I have no concerns about it.

t'was a little more bulky due to wider webbing in some areas than the previous strap I had, but after wearing it a few days, the webbing seemed to straight out from use (vs. the folded-in-the-box it felt like for the first day or two) and that seemed to help.

LOVE this Strap! It is so comfortable and my Canon Rebel t3i and easily attached.
However, the loops were TOO large to fit on my favorite travel camera: Canon G-16.
I found the Opt/TECH USA Mini QD Loop-1.5 mm (4 pack) here on Amazon which allowed me to attach the Air Strap. I was going to CUT the ribbon part off the old G-16 strap to make a loop to attach to this new strap but I decided to go with the OPT/TECH Mini Loop. This is a MUCH looking option.

This strap is good as advertised easy to use and what I find as a bonus is that in the extended state it is good for wearing over jackets. Although not designed to wear over the neck I sometimes find myself out of habit doing this and the width of the strap is a little wide for me. The strap material is a little slick also if just hanging straight off the shoulder. Overall it is the type of strap I having been waiting for.

I don't f**** around when it comes to quality equipment and upgrades for my camera.
With this low price I'm even more suprised about this nice piece!

Used on a 6d backpacking trip on Isle Royale with a D810 plus BG plus heavy Zeiss 21mm and a Tamron 70-200mm.
Worked fantastic!

However, I improved the leashes at both ends with small screw-lock carabiners (and taped them to avoid scratches).
