5.0 out of 5 stars Expanding musical horizons, March 30, 2004
This review is from: Cut (Audio CD)
a penetrating, skull-crushing delight that - like its predecessor - stands the test of time.

C-Tec is that truly rare combination and mix of human nature with technology. It deftly weaves a tapestry of intelligent lyrics, extra-worldly vocals with envelope-pushing and punishing machines.

Though "Darker," also by C-Tec, is still my favorite electronic release of the past ten years, this one's a strong contender.

4.0 out of 5 stars Keeps Getting Better, October 4, 2003

So if you familiar with the first release, you'll in some ways know what to expect. Or so I thought. The album not only picks up from where the first left off, it actually moves itself a couple of notches in sophication, and class. The arrangments are really well thought out, and pretty much most tracks really packa punch. There's the dark over tones, and huge rhythm sections, and lots of Jean-Luc Demeyer's great vocals. His vocal tone really works well with C-tec material. Tracks like "I Die Tomorrow", and "Cut....Lacerate" are just bulldozing their way through, while "Gesellschaft" has to go down as one of the classics of Industrial Electronics.... its just MEAN!!

Looking for something different, and wild... Get this!

5.0 out of 5 stars Unique, February 13, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Cut (Audio CD)
I don't know what genre you'd really put this in, I guess EBM. It is quite unique and stands out. The best songs are all-out stomping, crunchy beat-fests with inventive, growly, snarling vocals. Those songs alone are worth the purchase. Which is good because there are a couple duds-- slower songs with quirky lyrics that are...I want to say embarrassing, which I chalk up to English being a second language for the writer? But as I put it before, the majority of the album is not only really strong, it is totally unique and doesn't sound derivative of any other EBM out there.
