Leave it to Michael Dahl to do a tremendous job on simple machines. His books on the parts oof speech (illustrated by Sara Gray) are keepers -- and this series is also very worthwhile. Denise Shae's illustrations make the concepts easy to understand. I love how she "zooms in" on the action sometimes, like with chisels.
This book is about how we use wedges. It even has an experiment at the back. Very well done, and not just for little kids -- it's a great book about machines for any physics learner. |
