4.0 out of 5 stars CUT-A REVIEW, April 18, 2000
This review is from: Cut (Audio CD)
IN A WORD -CLASSIC- THIS CD BECOMES A MUST HAVE FOR SKY FANS EVERYWHERE.IT BRINGS BACK MEMORIES OF THE DEBUT ALBUM,THE ENERGY OF "LIVE SKY" AND THE FRESHNESS OF "SAFETY IN NUMBERS".CTS NEVER GOT THE BREAK COMPARABLE BANDS LIKE CHEAP TRICK ,EXTREME AND THE HOOTERS DID,WHICH ONLY SHOWS THE FICKLENESS OF TOP 40 AND FM RADIO.THIS BAND KILLS ON STAGE AND LEAVES OLDER AND MORE POPULAR BANDS LACKING.MY ONLY HOPE IS JOHN PALUMBO AND FRIENDS CAN KEEP THE MUSIC ALIVE AND KICKING UNTIL I AM NOT.THANK YOU.

P.S.HAMMERJACKS STILL RULES! P.S.S.DOES ANYONE ELSE ALSO MISS WLPL & WKTK ?

4.0 out of 5 stars Latest Studio CD Compares to 1975 Self Title Debut, October 18, 2000
This review is from: Cut (Audio CD)
CTS latest studio effort contains the song writing and time signature changes that have given them a cult following. The title track "Cut" and "Why Me" are reminicent of the power of "Hold On" and "Surf City". John Palumbo's acerbic writing is also demonstrated on "Eye To Eye" regarding interpersonal relationships with the opposite sex. CTS even includes a rhumba and rap number "Hey Earl" with it's infectious bass line. Also check out the "Art Of Wondering" with it's heavy jazz influence.

The band line up is similar to that of 1983's World In Motion 1 with John Palumbo (gu,v), Rick Witkowski(gu,v), Bobby Hird (gu,v,), Ron Zebron(gu,v) Carey Ziegler(bass,v), John Tracey(dr), and Glenn Workman(key). Definitely a MUST HAVE for any CTS fan.

1.0 out of 5 stars Maybe Palumbo should kill himself, October 7, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Cut (Audio CD)
I bought this record after reading Dave's review. I too long for the old Crack The Sky. The guitar lines, the expressiveness of Joe Macre's bass lines, right out front as part of the melody, and the drums and bass working almost as if they were one instrument...But unfortunately, those days are gone. I was really hoping this album would mark the return. But it did not. And after having been a huge early CTS fan, I can now conclude that John Palumbo is, and always has been the least interesting, and least skilled member of the band. Bring back the Safety in Numbers line up...
