Wonderful story about God's faithfulness and his healing power! The author shares great insight as to how her faith was increased during her recovery from a car accident that literally left her "cut in half". Great book to give as a gift to someone recovering from an accident or illness. To read my in depth review please visit my blot at [...]

This book is a great personal testimony to her difficult recovery from a horrible accident. There are many spiritual insights and it could make a good Bible study book for a small group.

Ana Le Roux was going home after spending the holidays with family when her life was revocably changed. She had a three year old and an infant, so she chose to sit in the back seat to keep the children calm as her husband drove. But when an oncoming car hit them head on, everything changed.
The lap belt that Ana has fastened around herself literally cut her in half upon impact. Her family escaped with only minor injuries, and Ana was quickly fighting for her life. This is her story of how God mended her in 23 miracles. While fighting for her life, she gives her choices over to God. She repents, she asks God to make her decision for her - to fight or give up. She lashes out at him for her pain, but she eventually surrenders her will to him, and only then can she begin the path to healing. This is Ana Le Roux's true account. It's written in three sections; the first part retells her story, the second part is a food for thought section that questions what you just read, and the third section is soul searching. A small book with a mighty message!!

An Incredible Story,
This review is from: Cut In Half: How God Mended Me with 23 Miracles (Paperback)
I recieved "Cut in Half" by Ana Le Roux from Bring It On! Communications for review.
"Ana le Roux was an average thirty something mother who served God, her husband and her two children, the youngest barely three-weeks-old. But on January 5, 2003 one instant sealed her fate in an unimaginable chain of events. Le Roux was involved in a violent head on collision after she instinctively and selflessly sacrificed her life in an attempt to save the lives of her children. The impact occurred with such force that the seat belt fastened around her waste literally cut her in half! After a seemingly endless dialogue with God, she struggled indecisively to make the choice to live or to die. So, she did the only thing left to do; she relinquished her freedom of choice to God Almighty." - from Deep River Books website I read this book in one afternoon. I was impressed with this woman's story and her faith as she walked through pain and heartache. I also loved how she set up the chapters in her book. Each chapter begins with scripture and ends with questions and things to think about. I may not have experienced what she has been through but I was able to apply many things from her story to my life. I would recommend this book for anyone going through something difficult or struggling in any way! God is faithful and He has a plan.

Miracles Happen,

This review is from: Cut In Half: How God Mended Me with 23 Miracles (Paperback)
The book Cut In Half is a true story about Ana Le Roux. Shortly after the birth of her second child she was involved in a terrible car wreck that literally cut her insides in half. The book chronicles her journey back from the brink of death. Through the journey she pinpoints 23 miracles that led to her healing (both natural and spiritual).
What an incredible story of survival, surrender, and allowing the miraculous power of God to work in her life and in her body. Each chapter chronicles a portion of her journey and the miracles that took place during that journey. The reader will find two sections at the end of each chapter written with the purpose of reflection. They're titled Food for Thought and Soul Searching. Food for Thought is meant to help the reader reflect on the preceding story. Soul Searching was written with the intent of making the reader a part of the experience, giving them a chance to reflect on their own life and see all the wonderful things God has done for us. I love how she shares that miracles are not limited to strangers or "special" people but they are a reality in our lives everyday. She also desires to dispel myths that we come to believe; Phrases, words or cliches that we use everyday that diminish God's participation in everything we do. Words like luck, coincidence, destiny, being in the right place at the right time. I liked how the cover was designed and the book itself was laid out well. There were some "grammatical" things I noticed, but nothing major and I felt like for a "first" book, she did a good job. I could not imagine going through what she did.

Cut In Half,

This review is from: Cut In Half: How God Mended Me with 23 Miracles (Paperback)
This is a great book for a lot of studies from the Bible. Would be great for a group to use and then discuss all the issues. The author is a mother and in 2003 she had a wreck and the impact was such that it literally "Cut her In Half". The author's eyes were opened that day and she began to call on God for healing and this is where the book comes in.
It details on how God can mend even the broken and this book gives the scriptures in where to find the answers. So many of us try to fix our own problems but that also can make them worse, when God is the healer and through Him all things are possible. The answers may not be what we want to hear but God will work them out for the best. There is not really a lot to review about this book as it is a study book and you will need to have it in your hands and read for your selves and see what Ana Le Roux is telling us. This book was sent for review to me by Arielle at Bring It On Publishing. |
