Great Patterns...wish there were more included.....,
By
This review is from: Cute Little Animals (Leisure Arts #4271) (Paperback)
This is a great pattern leaflet by Leisure Arts and Amy Gaines. The patterns, are fun, creative, and easy to make. I have so far made two of the patterns, and found the directions to be very clear and easy to follow, no errors, and consistent results. Large full color photographs, and templates included for all felt pieces. My only "complaint" is that there are only 8 patterns. And two of them are so similar (the two bears--one is about an inch larger with a different outfit) that it almost difficult to count them as two separate distinct patterns. It is a bit difficult to justify the regular price when you can buy Ana Paula Rimoli's "Amigurumi World" book for just about $2-3 more (Amazon price) and receive about 3 times the amount of patterns. However, I purchased this leaflet for 40% off with a coupon at Michaels, and this leaflet has been well worth the discounted price. I hope that Amy Gaines (who sells patterns on etsy) will publish more of her patterns in a leaflet or book form. Very well done!!! Highly Recommended!

I Would Not Have Bought This If I Knew...,

I'm fairly new to this art and had read through other reviews that this was a decent book for beginners. Not only was that reviewer wrong, but there are no helpful pictures/images that break down the steps-it's all based on knowledge you are supposed to know already...The completed image of each creature is used to be a "guide." Needless to say, it would have been a great book if it had a little more detail with images.

They ARE cute!,
This review is from: Cute Little Animals (Leisure Arts #4271) (Paperback)
True to its word, this booklet is full of cute animals. The patterns are well-written and pretty easy. I'm not all that experienced in the art of crochet, but I've found this book to be good for beginners (although no, it won't teach you how to crochet any stitches at all, which is what I'm assuming the negative reviewers were looking for), and my projects turn out looking pretty much like the pictures do.For the price, though, there aren't very many patterns, and as another reviewer noted, the two bear patterns are quite similar. If you can find this for a good sale price, take it. Otherwise, other pattern books (as opposed to this pamphlet) would provide you with more value.

This a great book for crocheters. The animals are just adorable and the character description added for each one is hysterical. It really adds to their personalities. I can hardly wait to make each and every one for my grandchild!

Well, what more can I say? Just look at the cover photo: the critters are so cute, and I can just see a child reaching out to grab a favorite. I visualize anyone of us walking into the children's ward of a hospital with an approved basket of joy for a child who needs to smile and cuddle one of these cuties. The critters are easy to crochet and work up very fast. If you are somewhat inexperienced at crocheting, these cuties will help you improve your skill. Go for it; you won't be sorry.

Really cute,

I really have enjoyed this little book of patterns, they are all so adorable. I have made only the kitty so far, but I've made two and each time I was able to change the pattern up so that it turned out really neat. The patterns are very easy to follow, and this was my first time crocheting anything. I was really impressed with how easy it was for me to pick up a needle and with very little practice at all start crocheting these little creatures. I really recomend these patterns.
