5.0 out of 5 stars Great U.S. made knives always stay sharp!!
I've had my Rada knives for three years, and they are absolutely great. I have no idea why nobody near me carries them, but they look great and are so sharp and easy to use. The handles didn't discolor at all, in three years, and still look just as great as when I bought them, but if you are worried about that, buy the black-handled ones. They remain sharp, and the meat...

3.0 out of 5 stars Aluminum handles discolor over time.
These are truly very sharp, good working knives. I was so happy with the tomato knife that I bought a 2nd one, the steak knife set, and the carving knife. Love them all, except: Just be aware that (now that I've had them for several months) the handles are brushed aluminum which gives a good offsetting weight in the hand, however, the shiny silver color turns dingey...

Love them all, except: Just be aware that (now that I've had them for several months) the handles are brushed aluminum which gives a good offsetting weight in the hand, however, the shiny silver color turns dingey gray. If you don't mind that-especially bec now they don't match the silver color of the blade, then they are a great buy. I would give 5 stars if they didn't discolor. NOTE: I NEVER ONCE PUT THEM IN THE DISHWASHER.

The handles didn't discolor at all, in three years, and still look just as great as when I bought them, but if you are worried about that, buy the black-handled ones. They remain sharp, and the meat cuts like butter. I can't praise these American-made knives any more highly. And, the price is a real bargain. They make great Christmas gifts or any kind of gift - something that will be used and appreciated. The Rada knife set compares favorably with ANY foreign-made knives. I would buy the Rada's.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great knives, July 31, 2008
This review is from: Rada Cutlery Six Serrated Steak Knives 6 Pc Boxed Gift Set, Made in USA, Dishwasher Safe Black Handles (G26S)
These are fantastic knives. They are very sharp for being dishwasher safe and with a serrated edge, I'm not worried about having to re-sharpen them. Even with about 20+ runs through the dishwasher now, these are as sharp as the day we got them. While not the most stylish knives (plastic handles) they are incredibly functional and great to have for day-to-day use.

Some serrated edge knives have burrs on the edge that catch meat as much as cut it - but these work well and go in the dishwasher. Just what I was looking for.

5.0 out of 5 stars They stay sharp, July 19, 2009
I bought a set of six of these about eight years ago, I have one left because somehow, the other five just disappeared... after friends or family came over for dinner.
The handles are comfortable (turning dull grey over time).
The blades are VERY thin, which makes it very east to cut thin slices of whatever.
The blades stay sharp forever. The one I have left I think I have only sharpened twice in eight years, and I use it almost every day.
If the handle would stay bright I would want to give six stars, so five is right.

It's very difficult to find decent knives that are dishwasher safe. RADA appears to have a whole product line of them. These steak knives appear to be "stamped" as opposed to forged but I am very happy with them. The serrated blade cuts well and is 4 inches in length. The knives feel well balanced but the handles seem a bit shorter than you would like and there is no indentations on the handle for your fingers to get around so at first them may feel different. I have a set of Mundial Steak Knives (forged) which I like much better but those would rust if left in the dishwasher and I dont use them everyday. I should also state that RADA does say, that is best to hand wash these but so far I have had no problems. If I continue to have no rust issues I may look to buy some other RADA products.

These knives were everything they promissed. They work great AND they are Made In America. The handles are a little thin, but after using them, can't think of a reason to need thinker handles. Remember, always try to buy American, it does matter.

They are the tiniest knives I have ever seen - nearly an inch shorter than my old set. Knives are expensive - bite the bullet and buy good ones.

5.0 out of 5 stars Keeping your Rada Shiney, December 1, 2009

I agree with everyone on the Rada Knives discoloring and there is an easy fix for that, I have had Wusthof and Shun and they really don't compare to the cheaper price not quality of Rada. Rada should be hand washed and hand dried never in the dishwasher or left to sit in water, but I found if there is some discoloration on the brushed handle a small wire wheel on a dremel will quickly clean that up make sure you use it in the direction of the grain on the handles. All knives need some maintenance Rada rarely has to be sharpened ever so maintaining the brushed handles is no big deal.
