Week after purchasing this product I found it in home depot for half the price.

While this candle most likely works as advertised regarding its capability to ward off insects, it has another problem about which consumers should be aware. According to the manufacturer, the wax used in this candle is slightly softer than regular candle wax and this summer, during a period of extremely hot weather, I had two of them sitting on my Trex composite deck. The heat melted the candles, leaving a very unsightly and oily looking dark spot on the deck boards that I can't remove. Even the manufacture said there is no way to remove this stain. Just posting this so folks can know this and put the candles in a place they don't melt and ruin decking material.

This is an excellent product and recommended by a pest control company; however, you can purchase this for half the price at Home Depot or Lowes.

Product kept most skeeters away; however, unless you waited 32 hours and then lit the candle(s)- there are 3 wicks in each candle- product will not last even close to 40 hours. I had one candle lit with all 3 wicks- lasted less than 10 hours; another with only 1 wick lit- not much more (about 5 hours).
Not sure how they can advertise like this and get away with it- anyway, I would not recommend this product considering the price. There are better repellent candles out there, for less, that last longer.

Not sure if this works. My son was holding two of these and the mosquito landed on his neck and was about to bite him. He had to use his hand to wack it off, but it got away.

"Excuse me boy, but can you spare me a bit of cutter?" Actually, spare me the cutter, since this is one stinky lamp that gives off its malenky smell even without being lit - I'll stick with the sprays, thank you!

There aren't a lot of good looking citronella candles available. In fact, there aren't any. But this has to be one of the better looking versions.

And yes, it's pretty good at keeping bugs away. We usually put one on the table and one under the table, burn for 20 minutes before we eat, and then blow out the candles because it's not very pleasant to eat with all that citronella in the air.

I am not sure exactly what this product was supposed to do, but it didn't seem to work very well. We set it up, while camping, in our shelter. It was a 10x10 space. We lit it and when we came back about 20 minutes later - the top of the tent was filled with bugs. They didn't come close to the candle, but they didn't stay far enough away.
