Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

Make professional cards or impressive scrapbook motifs with fun cutout shapes and three-dimensional designs, created using the Cuttlebug embosser and die cutter. From Provo Craft, the Cuttlebug cuts, embosses, or cuts and embosses paper, chipboard, vinyl, thin sheet metal, fabric paper, and other materials up to 1/8 inch thick. The machine comes with a spacer block, two 7-3/4-by-6-inch cutting pads, thin die adapter, user manual, and a hand-crank handle, as well as a hex key tool, screw, and plastic cap for handle installation. To get started, put the selected cutting die or embossing folder face up with the cutting paper between the two cutting mats and place in either of the Cuttlebug’s fold-down trays. The hand-crank rolls the material through the machine to the opposite tray, cutting or impressing images. With a suction system, the machine sticks to flat surfaces to prevent slippage while cutting. The machine works with a variety of Provo Craft cutting dies and embossing folders, available for separate purchase, as well as with many other manufacturers’ thin dies and steel rule dies for greater flexibility and versatility. Equipped with an integrated pop-up handle for easy machine transportation, the Cuttlebug also benefits from its fold-up trays for compact storage. Keep fingers clear of the trays during cutting, and supervise children carefully for safe usage. To clean, avoid abrasive, chemical, and spray cleaners. A limited one-year warranty covers this item. The Cuttlebug measures 12 inches long by 7-4/5 inches wide by 9-1/2 inches high and weighs 11 pounds upon shipping.

Product Description

Expressing creativity has never been easier. Cut shapes, emboss shapes or cut then emboss shapes. The machine and inspired die designs exclusive to the Cuttlebug system are as fun as they are simple to use. Just lower the platforms; a powerful gripping mechanism holds the machine in place. Then place cutting material and die (face up) between cutting mats and turn the handle to move the die through the machine. Remove the die cut shape and start crafting. Cuttlebug is user friendly with any die and cuts a variety of materials. Its fold-n-store profile allows storage in a small amount of space and the built-in pop-up handle allows for quick transport.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm a Bug lover!, March 5, 2007
I can't believe no one has reviewed this here. I spent a great deal of time researching other die-cut machines to work across ALL of my dies - Quickutz, Sizzix, Sizzlets - and this one does it all. The size of the cutting area is MUCH larger than Revolution and will do Revolution's 4" dies. My Sizzix dies cut like a dream, and even QK dies that I was thinking of sending back for replacement now cut without a problem!

I had no problems with curling or cracking, I read that some Cuttlebugs have a slight variation in the rollers and you have to experiment to find the sandwich makeup that works best for your machine and your dies. If one plate curls, I just put it in the opposite way. I also tend to put my dies at the very beginning of the plate and wind it backwards thru again after the cuts have been made.

6 QK 2" dies at once!!! If you have the QK triple plates, you can do 2 at once!!!! It's heaven!! Especially if you have doublecutz, you can do both plates at once!!!

Only down side doesn't matter to me - suction on table gets lost after a short bit, but who cares, I always move it around anyway! And right now, Michaels and AC Moore allow you to buy it using their coupons -- for the time being anyway!!!

I'm getting rid of my QK tool and my Sizzix machine!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Gotta have it, September 1, 2008
This is an excellent product for scrapbooking with affordable dies to buy. I use my sizzlets in this machine and they work fine. I can put four of them in at one time. The embossing dies are great and they don't need that much pressure from this machine to give you a crisp image. If you're on a budget, then this machine is a must. It is very versatile. Some people say they have trouble keeping it from moving but I set it on a laminate countertop, hold the top(where the lifting handle is) down with one hand while I'm cranking. The dies stay in place--no shifting. Keep the instructions handy. I have to go back to them for reference (senior moments). No regrets.

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite machine!, January 19, 2008
This review is from: Cuttlebug Embosser and Die Cutter (Kitchen)
I love my cuttlebug! It's so easy to use, fun and worth every penny. It works perfect, every time. It's also a plus that you can use your other brand of dies with this one machine. I do wish cuttlebug would make more dies of their own though. All in all, I love this thing.
