helpful book, but not the best,
By Helder Agel Santiago (Brasilia, DF Brazil) - See all my reviews
This review is from: "Cutty Sark": The Ship and a Model (Hardcover)
This is a good book and a must for anyone building a model of the Cutty Sark but if you order this book thinking it might be as good as "The Anatomy of Nelsons Ships" you will be disappointed. The book guides you through the process of building a "bread and butter" model of the Cutty Sark. The author used the restored Cutty Sark to do the research, and was very thorough about his work. It has over 490 pages and includes 6 plates of plans and numerous drawings and photographs depicting every detail of the ship (this review is of the 'two volumes in one' edition of this book) . Summing it up, It is a very good reference to the Cutty Sark, but not as good as "The Anatomy of Nelsons Ships" when it comes to ship modeling techniques in general.
