Tapered Hand Reamer Set,

This review is from: Tapered Hand Reamer, 1/8" to 1/2" and 5/32" to 7/8" (Misc.)
This is a nice little set for adjusting hole sizes easily. I mostly work with aluminum and plexiglass, but feel it will work nicely on mild steel. It was shipped and received rapidly and highly recommend - can't beat the price either.

It works like it should. Not made from the best steal but not bad for wood, plastic, aluminum or mild steel.

They're a little rough along the edges, uneven thicknesses, off center tolerances and such (probably cast instead of milled) [see video], but they work well enough, at least on soft plastic (I use them to ream out holes to fit on plastic project boxes). They have kind of a "cheap" feel and look, but they do the job, so I can't complain, especially for the price I paid. The photo is deceptive. It makes these look like they are made of some high quality chrome colored steel--they're not. More like a high carbon steel. They are very "iron looking" [you can probably tell I know very little about metals ;] But, I do know "cheap" when I see it, and these are cheaply made...but, again, they perform well enough for what I use them for.

I only used the bigger one to enlarge 2 1/2" holes to 11/16" in a stainless steel panel of 16 guage. It worked very well given the hardness of the material and gave neat round final holes. The T bar is loose in the tool so I used some tape to hold it in place. I'd recommend it for occasional use.
