Good product! Very portable, and yes, it does have to be refilled about every 2 hours. Not really practical because you kind of have to put it right under your nose to get the effect, but it looks nifty anyway.

A tip for those who say it doesn't work or stops working. The lid has to be on just right. Imagine a square. Only one of the 4 basic rotations of the square lid will cause the device to turn on. You have to make sure the contacts on the lid line up with the contacts on the device, or no power will flow. That stumped me for about 5 minutes.

Am sitting next to my Sauna Boy humidifier here in my hotel room in Beijing, and liking it!

What it does - emits a plume of a very fine, ultrasonically generated mist that helps to humidify the air right here at the desk where I am typing this, making for a more comfortable working environment because I don't dry out as much as I breath.

What it does not do - humidify a whole room, it's just too small, BUT, I have been filling it and leaving it running right before bed time, and do seem to wake up a bit less dried out, so it seems to be helping overnight as well, at least a bit. Have not tried it on bed stand, but will.

Pros
+ Effective for "personal space" humidifying, increases personal comfort when close to you.
+ Absolutely silent! Won't distract or keep you awake.
+ Very lite weight and compact - critical for taking on long international trips.
+ Very cleaver design - internal wick draws water up to the ultrasonic generator in the lid, where it is converted to a jet of mist - note that electrical contacts in lid must align to get power to the ultrasonic generator - rubber plug serves double duty, as plug/handle in the cap, and then as part of the on switch, where it must be inserted to keep the unit turned on - believe the contacts in the bottom of the bowl sense when all water is gone and turn the unit off.
+ Friendly appearance, with optional face stickers (I use the smiley one)

Cons
- Small capacity (60ml), so you have to fill regularly, but worth it for the trade-off in weight and size.

Very small size but great for humidifying my dry office. When full it lasts about 2 hours giving of cool mist (atomized). No puddles either!

I give this product two stars for coolness and looks. It is a neat conversation piece to have on your desk, especially when the steam is shooting through the top. It runs by attaching the supplied USB cable into your computer USB port. There is a small rubber button that you remove from the top and insert in a hole in the back to turn it on. But because of its size, the water empties quickly. My unit only worked once. Now when I plug it in, nothing happens. I've tried both USB ports and fiddled with the on/off button with no success. My office is fairly small, but I really didn't notice any difference in the humidity the one time Sauna Boy worked. It's just not worth the effort, or the price.

This humidifier is perfect for the office. It's small, but actually produces a fair amount of mist, about equal to a medium setting on the humidifier I have in my bedroom. It's also great that it's portable and uses a USB for power, so I can bring it on the go. I can't speak much about the durability because I haven't had it that long, but it's been working great so far.

The downside is that it needs to be refilled about every 2 hours, so I wouldn't use this in a bedroom. But it's perfect for the office, because the refillings make for good stretch breaks throughout the day.

Also, it comes with a few stickers with alternate faces that you can put over the one on the actual humidifier, so you can change it up whenever you feel like it. It's a great product!

This little guy is super cute. I found directions on the Internet for how to use it. The black cap on top must be out of the hole. After putting it together, fill close to the top with water. I marked the correct corner with a black felt pin so I always know hot to set the lid on the bottom. You have to move it around a bit until it "fits." There are two bronze contacts on the lid and on the white part. They have to match up to get it to work. Plug it into your computer and plug in the unit. There is a button to push to start. If no steam comes out, try moving the lid around to make sure the contacts are aligned. Then push the button to start again. It takes a while to play with it, but it does work. Once you get acquainted with the little guy, you will love him. If the contacts (and filter) get rusty, it will stop working. Just clean the contacts with rust remover. Rust remover can clean the filter too. Just rinse when it is clean.

I have probably had it for over a year and have removed the rust twice.
I get lots of compliments on him. It runs several hours on a "tank" of water.

It seems this product has been updated and fine-tuned in the time that people have been posting reviews, so not all of them are accurate anymore.

It's all but assembled out of the box, so there's little need to read the directions.
Step 1: Put the white sponge-like filter into the black tube and twist it into the lid.
Step 2: Remove the black plug from the top of the lid (does require some patient tugging).
Then you just fill it up, plug it in, and press the 'on' button. The lid now has magnetic fixtures so it clicks securely into place. It only fits correctly in one direction, and it's perfectly easy to tell.

I fill it up when I come to work and have to refill it once before I leave, so it's not like you're having to get up from your desk every half hour. Only fill it 3/4 full or it will overflow.

It's true the vapor column is small, but idk that I'd want a full-blown humidifier going at the office. I believe it's enough to make a difference in the immediate area. Even evaporating water from a pebble tray significantly improves the micro-climate of a group of plants.

As far as rust and other problems go, all humidifiers have to be cleaned on a weekly basis (at least). It's like dishes - if you use them, you have to clean them. With a full sized humidifier you are supposed to wipe it down and let a vinegar/water solution sit in the reservoir and base for half an hour, weekly. If you want to keep your mini humidifier operating properly long-term, it's best to plan for a mini cleaning routine.

Note: Because I have it plugged into my computer, it turns off every time my computer goes to sleep. So, don't panic if that happens.

UPDATE: I've now owned it for a month and it's still going strong.
