5.0 out of 5 stars It's just like the web comic, except you can touch it!
This book is a collection of strips from the Cyanide & Happiness web comic at explosm dot net. Of course, being a collection, it should be just as good as the original, right?

Well it's BETTER! For some reason they included 30 strips I'd never seen before. Also, the colors are more vivid in the book than they are on my computer monitor. It's very...

1.0 out of 5 stars Sad reflection on our society.
When "There is Something About Mary" came out, I wondered how much deeper into the dirt we could go. I commented to a friend that perhaps one day we would include rape, incest, abortion, child abuse, pedophilia, family molestation, murder, etc. into our comedy. Well here it is. Am I the only one that finds a comic strip that has a pregnant woman saying she is pregnant...

It's very aesthetically pleasing.

They have also included a funny "About the authors" section in the back of the book, with pictures of the authors rendered in their Cyanide & Happiness art styles.

Did i mention it is HILARIOUS???

I've been a fan of [...] for a couple years now. When this book came to US stores, didn't even think about it. Just bought it. I have to say it was worth every penny. It's a really nice collection of their best, funnier comics and some extra book-exclusive comics too. I loved them all :P
Only thing I didn't like is that I had to wait a couple months for it, since it was released in the UK first. And that US doesn't get a hardback edition. Just the paper back one.
The paper back isn't bad, it's actually quite resistant, but hardback would have been a plus and I would have paid the extra couple of bucks for it.

Anyways, great book. Highly recommended if you are fan of [...], if you are not, go to their webpage first, since not everyone likes their comedy (can be offensive). I LOVE IT.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Hardcopy (Paperback) Representation of the Webcomic, March 22, 2010

Cyanide and Happiness. Understand this - if you do not like the webcomic, you will not like this book. There is nothing in this book, for the most part, that is not available free on the internet to read on their website. However, this book is the perfect addition to a comic/graphic novel collection, and I LOVE it.

This book is full of webcomics about... nothing... and everything. Yes, they make fun of the crucifixion, boobies, murder, child murder, sex, and everything else. It is meant to be taken lightly, but has very serious undercurrents that require a certain dark humor to appreciate. This comic is NOT for everyone. It is, however, insightful, brilliant, acerbic, and (most importantly) incredibly funny.

Now, for the book itself, it is a paperback book with color drawing. It is 160-something pages or so long, and it recreates comic from the web, while adding a couple new ones. If you have read all the webcomics, though, don't expect a whole lot of new material. The colors stand out well on a semi-gloss paper stock, and the paperback is not flimsy. Certainly, as someone else stated, hardback would have been great, but they did not skimp on the weight/sturdiness of the paperback cover.

Conclusion? If you like the webcomic... GET IT. It is a great addition to any collection and non-webcomic-savvy friends will love you for sharing it with them. If you've never heard of it, go to the website first and test it out to see if it's your brand of humor. It is NOT for everyone. I love it, though. I bought it, no hesitation, and I don't regret it.

Anyone who is a fan of the web comic will love this. Anytime some sits on my sofa, I throw it--with force--at their head and demand they read it. This initially causes them displeasure. However, after flipping through a few pages, they turn the corner, proclaim the book as magnificent, and make sweet love to you.

The book was hilarious, and contained some comics that you can't find on their website. I couldn't put it down until I was finished with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars This may offend people under the age of 15 and over the age of 50., July 28, 2010

Cyanide and Happiness is a long running internet comic, one which may be the most offensive and akward material out there apart from pornagraphy.
But who said that was a bad thing?
This book will keep you laughing through the entire thing and then a little longer at the end where new comics have been printed. My only problem with this book was the amount of comics on each page and the length of the book.
It seems as if the publisher could have easily printed nearly three comics on each page, however there is only one per page. It may have been a style they were working on but I like to get more for my money. At the same time, the book is a little short, I found myself finishing it within a few hours, whilst trying to keep my friends from stealing away the book to read it themselves.
Its a very popular title, and even with its flaws, it is a GREAT DEAL for around $10.

Been a long time C&H fan, and this book doesn't disappoint, it has all their classics and really good ones, the only ones that aren't in here that I would have liked to see in here are the Purple Shirted Eye Stabber comics, but the ones in here make up for it, and the 30 new ones are awesomely funny, recommended for any fan or newcomer.
