4.0 out of 5 stars It's apparently worth the money.
Well, first of all it's worth the money. Just 8 bucks. What can you ask for? But it doesn't look at as good as the picture here in Amazon. Well, that's always the case, right? I feel comfortable with this thing on head. It's light weight and soft. The voice come out from the headphones is pretty good too. But it only has a volume control for headphones but not for...

I feel comfortable with this thing on head. It's light weight and soft. The voice come out from the headphones is pretty good too. But it only has a volume control for headphones but not for microphone. Mic does have a mute button. What's funny is that even I set the button at MUTE, the MIC still picks up a tiny bit of signal, much much weaker than when it's on of course. But apparently it's there. I don't know if I got a defective one but I will live with it. It doesn't bother me much. But it might be something you should take care of.

What do you expect for the price. They do the job. They may not be the most comfortable but for the price you can't beat it.

2.0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for..., October 18, 2004

This is an inexpensive headset/microphone combo and as such lives up to it's reputation...

I bought these about a year ago, now they are in the drawer and I'm back on Amazon to find a suitable replacement.

What happened you ask?

What didn't happen should be the question.

Let's start with the microphone boom. It is loose and doesn't stay in place.

The earphones mysteriously stopped working. It may be due to the plug, but who cares? Why should I have to fiddle with anything to make it work? It's just annoying...

And the volume control/mute switch is a farce. Within 2 weeks it stopped working. I disassembled it, hard wired the connects within, filled it up with hot melt glue and pressed it together again. So much for adjustments or mute...

You get what you pay for. You may have better luck than I did. The did work for a while. Then they didn't anymore.

The only thing that could justify buying these is if you just didn't have any more that $11.

Can't think of anything else. And yes, they work. Usually. Sometimes. If you fiddle with them.

1.0 out of 5 stars Beware of this Item, April 7, 2004
This review is from: Cyber Acoustics AC-400 MVC Stereo Mic/Headset (Personal Computers)
Generally i dont write the reviews. But really for this item, i felt like writing.
Beware !!!!!!!!!. MIC Does not work. Mute does not function at all, whether it is off or on. Sound is OK if you keep it low. If you keep it high, then sound is horrible. Think twice before you buy....

Excellent Mic/Headset for the best price. Don't expect nothing fancy because its very simple, stereo headphones, a mic, and a volume controller, with a mute button for a mic as well.

1.0 out of 5 stars This is bad, March 12, 2004
By A Customer

I've never written a review on a product before, but this one is so bad I feel I should warn others. The speakers sound great, and the voume control works. That's where the fun ends. The mute button for the microphone doesn't work. Also, the line has a short in it somewhere, every time I breathe I get tons of static. Even with the microphone on "mute". I know that it didn't cost a lot of money, and this just proves you (don't) get what you (don't) pay for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Getting excellent reports, November 30, 2003
By A Customer

I use this headset on Ham Radio, and I found the sound to be clear, and the attached volume control quite handy. Reports I have received from other Hams are, that the mike quality is excellent, and a number of them have asked where I got it. When I tell them the price I paid, they are flabbergasted. Certainly well worth the money!

I work everyday using headsets like these and believe me when i tell you that EVERY product that I have used from CYBER ACOUSTICS have the same issue, no one can hear me using the microphone. I have used about 7 different models from this brand, each have the same issue. I would HIGHLY recommend purchasing ANY other brand than this.
