I returned this product because I could barely hear it even when I adjusted the volume to the maximum (by the way, my hearing is normal). I have never tried other non-amplified computer speakers but I think you probably should just buy the amplified speakers for your computer. Also the wire of this product is VERY short. It's pretty much useless.

After an incident with the wrong transformer and my nice Compaq factory speakers, I was in the market for new computer speakers. I listen to music some, but wasn't planning for it to be my main music source. I decided to buy some speakers that weren't the lowest priced, but a little bit more around $30 or $40. I regret now not going for the next price range up.

I don't have a problem hearing them, but the sound hurts my ears when I turn them up to what I consider a good level. I may be lucky and have a good soundcard that can drive them well. My complaints about these speakers are mainly that there is too much high end, absolutely no bass, too much of an echo and they pick up interference from my external hard drive. The cable is kinda short compared to other speakers, but it works fine for my current set up.

I may try borrowing someone's subwoofer and hooking it up and see if that makes them tolerable, but I'll probably do well to just save up for a nicer system. If you want some speakers that you don't want to listen to much music they should be ok for you, but if you end up listening to music or watching things online they are pretty poor. I will most likely consider Cyber Acoustics in the future, but not their lower end speakers. I will admit these guys have jumped off the desk a time or two and hold up well, unfortunately it doesn't fix the bad sound.

hese work and sound really nice for their price range. I am very impressed. The service from Amazon was swift and sure. I think very highly of Amazon. Back to the speaker system....They are currently in use in my apartment, and are very suitable for apartment living and listening to music at reasonable levels. In fact, i have the bass volume turned all the way down, and it provides enough 'oomph' for the rock and jazz I listen to. The mids are a little weak, but this can be expected of 2-way systems in this price range. The bright blue lights were a bit of a shock, but I am getting used to them.
