Practical steps to combating cyber bullying, December 10, 2011
This review is from: Cyber Bullying No More: Parenting A High Tech Generation (Growing with Love) (Paperback)
I find Holli Kenley's book above all to be a practical guide for parents. She presents concrete steps for preventing and dealing with cyber bullying that will guide parents through the maze of the technological world that most kids understand far better than their elders. I especially like the importance placed on face to face communication in all phases of contemporary life. Not only are children likely to spend too much time with their technology, but consider the amount of time the average adult watches TV or DVDs, and fails to talk or listen to other members of his family or friends. Posting your activities on Facebook is no substitute for a heart to heart talk with a parent, friend or trusted relative.
For parents needing help with dealing with cyber bullying, or looking to keep their children from falling into that trap, this book is highly recommended.
