This product is great, it has done a lot for anyone that needed it. The bass response is excellent and as you should hopefully hear in the video, so does it show out well compared to other internal speakers. Yes it is mono, and yes it makes a weird sound when pumped up to (6 presses for highest volume after turning it on when holding the power button down for a few seconds) the highest setting it can do. The speaker is great however, it has good volume, except distortion is present but it is because I had a damaged unit. This is one of many videos I will present with sound quality, and then will compare to the Logitech z305.

I bought this to take backpacking with me to use when I want to play openly audible music when at shelters or other places where appropriate to share your music with others. The sound is fantastic for such a small unit and has been met with a wow factor along the trail. I am not usually one to carry gadgets on the trail, particularly when the debate is usually how many pairs of socks I will carry Vs some other object, but this unit has proven to be a nice addition when hiking with friends.
The unit holds a charge for at least a few hours of play time (I have yet to have the batteries die on me between charging) and can be recharged using a USB compatible charging adapter which means I don't have to carry extra batteries and can use my phone USB charger and only add the charging cable to my gear.
I have also found this a wonderful addition to my bag when I travel to use in hotel rooms and when working outdoors.

I am not a gadget and gizmo kind of guy, but this is one little gadget that is worth its weight and out performs expectations for its size

This unit's sound is loud with excellent bass. it can also be strung together with other units. Great for travel. The USB charge last three hours of consecutive play.

Bought this for my husband with an iPod Nano, I wanted something he can take in the garage, ice fishing, fishing, boating, or at the beach. It's Small, portable, rechargeable, and great sound. Love it!

Bought it after some research (other brands either do not produce good sound or break soon, or are not very nicely manufactured).
1) The touch and feel of the speaker are pleasurable, though the shape is not easy to grab.
2) The design is 'coolish', but I would improve it a bit (hence 4 stars, but not a very big deal though): the upper part doesn't pop out as high as on the photo (perhaps a shorter spring?); it is not very easy to grab the thing without pressing a control on the base, controls need to be looked at, as they all feel the same. Lights are nice though. It doesn't move when playing (as some other speakers do).
3) The lead to the sound output that is on the bottom is short - about 4" (10 cm), but that is the case with other speakers as well; the external lead has a shortish USB branch ~ 6" (15 cm) while the speaker branch is plentifully long ~18" (45 cm).
4) SOUND QUALITY: is good for the size, clear, no rattling or rumbling, no resonance. (I compared it to the AYL Portable Mini Speaker System, also available on Amazon), the Cyber Snipa CSAS001 Sonar Portable Mini Speaker wins, especially in the bass part.
5) Note: I own it for about a month, it works fine so far.

Yes, I would recommend it (bought myself three for presents).

This little speaker is absolutely incredible! I'm not sure what I expected exactly, but this tiny speaker has by far and away exceeded all of my expectations. (I have used it with a Sony PSP and Samsung Galaxy S smart phone).

First off, the speaker came charged and ready to go and I have had it running all day! I have so far watched 4 full length movies and listened to at least an hour of music on the original charge. I'm not sure if every charge will last this long, as it's still going right now--this is far greater than the advertised 3-4 hours!

Second, the sound quality is mind blowing for such a tiny little speaker. I put in Aliens and was able hear every shriek and hiss, every pulse from the pulse rifle, without distortion. I was floored by the clarity of every sound, both effects and spoken dialog. I cranked a song and could hear it in the next room. The bass will not stop your heart from beating, yet it is just right for the overall sound that this amazing speaker generates. The Sonar completely and utterly destroys the built-in speakers of both the PSP and Galaxy S.

Thirdly, this can be daisy chained together with another Sonar speaker! (I didn't realize this at first and will be picking up another one as soon as I can). This speaker is only 2"x2"x2"...very small and ultra portable. Two of these would truly be EPIC! (Imagine 3 or 4)! O_o

The only negative thing about this wonderful little speaker is the bright blue power LED, and I do mean BRIGHT. You could use it to light your way around the house without turning on any lights at night. Another minor complaint is that the USB charging cable is rather flimsy. It literally feels cheap--like the headphone cables that come with a dollar mp3 player. However the speaker charges through mini USB so, if you own a PS3, use the cables that charge your controllers...problem solved!

Bottom Line - OUTSTANDING!

This crap speaker won't last long. The wire got striped off and now sound does not come out. Had this for 10 months and rarely used it yet it has weak wiring. This is a waste of money.

I really like the sound it produces with my MP3. Do not understand why it has the pop up thing. Does not change the sound at all. I use it in the bathroom while I'm getting ready in the morning and take it with me on vacation. It recharges quickly and last for a week or more before needing a recharge. The volume and sound is good enough for use out on the patio during cocktail hour.

This speaker sounded incredible at first, but after about a week of use with bass heavy music it started to distort to ubearable levels. The rattle on this speaker has made it unusable with any style of music. I only give it two stars because at one time it sounded great. I would not recomend this speaker to anyone who listens to bass heavy rap or og sub heavy dubstep such as early dmz.
