5.0 out of 5 stars Forget the keyboard...this is the only gamepad you will ever use!!!
Like many of you, I have been using a regular keyboard for years ever since games required you to use the arrow keys. Playing COD, many people are good just using the keyboard, but I wanted an edge. I got this gamepad after trying the wolf king gamepad. That thing is too big and too many buttons to use. So I returned it and got this one.

2.0 out of 5 stars Get a better gameboard; tried to like it for two years
Like the title says I've had my Cyber Snipa game pad for two years. The butterfly keys are good for movement, but the rest of the keyboard is a pain in the neck. The keys that are there are poorly place and oddly shaped; to this day there are almost none of them that I can hit reliably without looking at the keypad. There are also keys missing that are commonly needed...

This review is from: Cyber Snipa Game Pad V2 Black (Personal Computers)
Like many of you, I have been using a regular keyboard for years ever since games required you to use the arrow keys. Playing COD, many people are good just using the keyboard, but I wanted an edge. I got this gamepad after trying the wolf king gamepad. That thing is too big and too many buttons to use. So I returned it and got this one.

The best thing about this game pad is there is no software required and Windows recognizes like nothing else. All the buttons are programmable within the game(s). There are 2 side buttons that when pressed have a blue lcd lights shining. These are mainly for show as the ganepad does not have back lit key lighting. The WASD keys are big. The one difference you will notice is that the keys on the keyboard and the buttons on the game pad. Since the the keyboard's keys are all the same size and the game pad have a bigger WASD, you may have to re customize some of the keys within your game...I normally use (when using a keyboard) the c to crouch. I changed that to the X for the gamepad and got used to it very quicky.

Another great feature is the wrist pad that is attached. It helps with long sessions of gaming. The only thing bad I can say is that after 3 days the lights started going out on the game pad. Cyber Snipa has a great policy from the date of purchase you have 1 year and they will replace it. I emailed them and they sent me a replacement. The one had the lights working, but then 1 light on the side would not work...No big deal, but I contacted them again and they sent me a new one...The new one had the lights working, but when plugged into the usb and turning on the pc, it would not boot up all the way and I had to unplug the game pad for the pc to boot up and plug in the gamepad back in. That was annoying. So I sent back the 2 I received and kept the original...

Pros....best thing ever.
Will take about a week to get used to, but then you will not be able to go back to a normal keyboard...Trust me this is a major plus.
Great wrist pad
Buttons feel natural

Cons....Lights may go out

If you want the edge and people who used to beat you all the time start to question you and even accuse of you cheating (which I take as a compliment), don't hesitate, get this, you will not be sorry.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cyber Snipa Game Pad V2 Review, September 8, 2009
By
This review is from: Cyber Snipa Game Pad V2 Black (Personal Computers)
For PC gamers like myself who have difficulty enjoying game play using your keyboard QWERTY or WASD keys for movement, this is a must have for you. The Cyber Snipa Game Pad V2 is a quick study. Just plug it into an open USB and it's ready for use. The gamepad key setup is configured so your attention can be on the game and not having to look at the keyboard to insure you are pushing the correct keystroke. (remember pushing the Z key instead of the S key and getting fragged!) All the essential keys for a first person shooter are there including the important hotkeys. I've found it equally simple for role playing games too, which was the key reason I purchased the game pad. My only complaint is that you're not able to configure the game pad to your specific needs, but even lacking that ability I still highly recommend adding the Cyber Snipa Game Pad V2 to your gaming arsenal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Faster than a keyboard. Great Pad!, January 21, 2010
This review is from: Cyber Snipa Game Pad V2 Black (Personal Computers)
Greatest gaming pad I ever played on. I had an older one, one of the first I think. It too was awesome. Lasted about 2 years and I beat it up really good. A couple of the most used buttons began to fail but for 2 years and a hard workout, It was great. The new one now has a few more buttons which is even better. It takes a couple of days to get the hang of not having your fingers squeezed together as on regular keyboard. This pad really gives your hand freedom. It adds so many more functions and makes everything faster to get to. I am very pleased with this product and recommend it to any gamer.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent game pad but be aware of a potential problems, March 14, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Cyber Snipa Game Pad V2 Black (Personal Computers)
I received the Cyber Snipa game pad V2 about a week ago and so far my experience with it has been great, but there are a couple are a couple issues to be aware of.

As a gamer that isn't used to playing fps's on the PC, I struggle using the keyboard while playing online. I feel that even a fraction of a second spent searching for a button is too long when playing competitively. I was dying so much in Battlefield Bad Company 2 that I wasn't having any fun!

So, I bought this game pad and I'm not sure whether it's psychological, but my playing has much improved!

Ok, the pad is great, but what are the problems I speak of?

Well there are three thing, the second of which caused me to write this review...

1. The buttons need to be pressed down pretty firmly in order for them to register. This isn't a big deal and I've adapted pretty well, but after using a mac keyboard for so long my typing touch has become pretty light. The upside is that I don't often make mistakes and press the wrong buttons...

2. The LED on the face of the device is super bright, again not a big deal easily fixed with some tape. However before I covered it up, even a casual glance at the light would take me straight to headache city.

3. This is the big one... Now, this should not be viewed as a reason not to purchase this product because honestly there are so many factors involved that I'm not sure what the root cause is but I wanted to put this out there in case anyone else had the same problem. The first time I shut down my pc with this peripheral attached it did not shut down normally. Now to be fair, I've had some problems with putting my brand new 64bit win 7 machine to sleep, but this was a normal shutdown. The pc went through the normal process of shutting down, the monitor blanked out, but the machine stayed on; light, hd, fans and all.

Thinking it was a fluke, I held the button to shut the pc down. Later, I turned it on and.... Nothing. I'd get the bios splash screen, but it would just restart. No beeps, the keyboard wasn't functional, nothing. I ripped my pc apart, reset the cmos, and unplugged unnecessary hardware. Still nothing. One thing I didn't unplug though, was the game pad. It turns out that if the game pad is plugged in while the machine shuts down or starts up, it causes major problems with my pc.

My pc is now working fine and in the I will just unplug the device before shutting down, but man was I freaking out for a second. Like I said, this is most likely not a flaw with the device but just something to be aware of in case the same thing happens to you.

Overall, great device with minor, fixable problems.

The cyber snipa game pad is great for fps games and for using as shortcut keys for other applications. The gamepad does not need any software and connects to your computer through a usb port and acts as a second keyboard, so if you push the forward arrow, "W" is what you are actually pressing. The only problem that i had with this product was that you have to push the buttons all the way down for them to work. If youre in a hurry and you press the button quickly then most of the times it wont work. But overall it is a good product and i love the lighting to match my gaming computer.

Edit:
After owning this for four years I can uphold my original review. It is great build quality and all of the buttons still work. The only problem is that the LED lighting began to fade and then disappear completely. This is not a functionality problem but merely cosmetic.

2.0 out of 5 stars Get a better gameboard; tried to like it for two years, October 21, 2011

There are also keys missing that are commonly needed in games and sometimes cannot be remapped (enter key, for example). I thought when I bought it that the keys not being programmable would not be a problem since I could rebind them in games, but many games refuse to rebind the number keys and the F keys, so there really isn't anything left to rebind. For many games I end up using a mouse, Cyber Snipa, and a regular keyboard for the keys that can't be used on the Snipa.

On the good side, after two years of use the keys all still work. I didn't have the problem that others have reported of the LED lights going out. However, I actually just now turned the LEDs on to check to see if they worked; for the past two years I have always had them turned off. The placement of the LEDs does not assist you to see the keys on the keypad, and I have been glad that they could be turned off since they really serve no purpose and are very annoying.

I now have a Logitech G13 gameboard to replace the Cyber Snipa, which will be going to Goodwill in a few days and won't be missed. Hasta la vista, baby.

Mark.

So, with all the research I did before buying this product, I kept asking myself if this was something I would really use.

After buying this product, I have found a few things out:

For starters, it does not have any software required to run this, so that is nice. But, it acts like a little keyboard... that's it. No macros, nothing really all that cool about it. Just a nice little keypad to make it a little easier to position your hand, nice little palm rest, etc.

When using this for World of Warcraft, it works much like my keyboard. But when I need to type, I'm right back to my real keyboard and then running my character and cycling through my rotation with my full keyboard. I have to remember to go back my new little game pad. Which yeah, it's nice... but not really $30 nice.

I got a good deal on the product, it was shipped in a timely manner and it works exactly like it's supposed to. But in all actuality, it's just not really as cool as I thought it would be.

2.0 out of 5 stars Decent but not a replacement for my Z-board, January 26, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Cyber Snipa Game Pad V2 Black (Personal Computers)
The idea behind these pads is absolutely genius and exactly what I wanted to replace my aging (and bulky) Z-board. I loved my Z-board for the FPS configuration, but not the normal keyboard so much. I bought this pad thinking it would solve my problems...

However there is one HUGE problem I have with this pad... the keys require way too much pressure to activate them. With most keyboards, slightly depressing them will activate them, and not a whole lot of finger pressure is required. With the Cyber Snipa, there is a rubber mat with nubs for each key, and it has to be pressed more than 80% of the way down before the key starts registering.

So even though I would push the key halfway down into the slot, no action took place until I firmly pressed it all the way down. This caused me problems 3 fold:

1) Every time I tried to move, there was a slight delay before I'd actually start moving the direction I wanted due to the pressure required
2) I got some finger fatigue that I have NEVER experienced with a normal keyboard
3) Because it required firm pressure to keep the key down, quite often I'd stop moving unintentionally when one of my fingers let up on the key even just ever so slightly.

I will note that this affected the WASDQE keys the most as they were the biggest keys, but all of the keys suffered from this, with the Space/Crouch keys suffering from it the least.

Another note, the numbers are almost impossible to distinguish due to them all having the same size and being awkwardly shaped buttons. I feel like the V1 pad had a better design here, as does the Z-Board

Maybe if they make a pad in the future with keys that don't require a ton of pressure I will try one in the future, but for now I'd recommend you look elsewhere for a gaming pad solution. Currently I am using the SteelSeries Shift (SteelSeries bought Ideazon and this is their Z-board 2.0) and I have to say it is ROCK solid. The keyboard is bit expensive but I got it 50% off and I absolutely love how good it feels. Plus previous keysets are compatible so that's a huge plus!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very convenient to expensive keyboard, January 24, 2012

I like this because I don't have to have a giant expensive keyboard in order to have a great gaming experience. The feel is almost natural with the exception of a few keys, but you easily get used to it. I have had no problems at all with it so far.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lefty handed gamers: Struggle no more!, January 16, 2012

I've been using the snipa game pads for years. As a left handed gamer, there aren't many options out there for us, but this things works great.

I've had the V2 for over 3 years and never had any issues with it; and I definitely don't take it easy on this thing. It's been packed up, dropped, slammed (RAGE!!) and just all around abused and it's never fought back. I had the V1 for years before the V2. The only reason I got the V2 was the padding on V1 wore out and got uncomfortable to rest my wrist on. (It was back in my WOW days so it got way more use than I care to admit.)

I'm confused by the reviewers saying the quality is poor because I've had the opposite experience with this thing. It's not as flashy as some of the other game pads out there, but it certainly gets the job done.
