This car mount dvd player case just "saved" me on an 11-hour trip with 3 very young children!!
I bought this item after returning a Case Logic Car Mount case. It is very sturdy and uses fewer straps so it is less cluttering in the car. Also, unlike the item I returned, it hangs vertically and flat so that the other child in the back seat also has an unobstructed view of the movie. The unit holds the dvd player very securely, seems safer than the Case Logic model I had.
There are openings in the case where the car adaptor fits through so that it doesn't fall out when things get jostled around....a real plus!
The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that the case zips apart into 2 pieces when you want to mount it in the car and I'm always thinking that I'd prefer it to stay together so that I don't misplace the other half.

We ordered this case/auto mount for our Philips PET710 7" Widescreen Portable DVD Player because it was the one recommended by Amazon. I needed the auto mount for long car rides with my toddler. I eventually got this thing to work (failure was not an option if you get my drift), but it has a number of drawbacks.

-In order to mount it, you have to remove the top half(huh?). Having two parts makes it harder to install and easier to lose. I accidentally left the top part on the top of the car when I drove away.

-It's too small. The Philips portable DVD player is too long for the case and the headphones and car/ac converters also pull the player out of the case. Plus (and this is really amazing), it does not have enough space to hold the most basic accessories that came with the DVD player. I have to carry the headphones and sleaved DVDs seperately!

I chose my last DVD player b/c it came with an auto mount case, and even though I like the Philips DVD player, I'd do that again if I had it to do over. Having the right case/mount for your DVD player is that key.

I bought 2, being stupid and thinking they would surely fit my standard-size, 7", Coby DVD players. They did not. When I went to return them, they said that, in addition to paying the return shipping, I had to pay a $15 "restocking fee"! So, $25 to return 2 items totalling $33?! Also, the return policy is very tricky and time-consuming, akin to those "we hope you get so frustrated you never fill it out" rebate cards.

As to the product, I ordered 2 of the same thing, and 1 is differnent than the other! They are shoddy and have a lot of different places where the craftmanship seems poor.

Overall, below average product from a company with horrible service- if you're going to roll the dice on the low price, good luck!

This case seemed well-made, but I had to return it because it was incompatible with the Philips PET710 7" Widescreen Portable DVD Player that I had also ordered, and which I had intended to store in the case. Specifically, when in the case I was unable to adjust the volume on the player; and the case did not accommodate the power cord plug for use in vehicles. Finally, I could not use the remote at all, because the case blocked the remote sensor on the player. Perhaps this case will work better with players other than the Philips model that I ordered?

I bought this in October and have used it for about a month. I love it. It's nice looking and large enough to hold headsets etc. I just ordered three more for gifts and they are different brand, smaller and cheaper. Think I'll return the others and purchase these.

Having shopped these "1 size fits all" portable DVD cases in store, I was pretty disappointed by either quality, price, and/or "extras" that came with the cases. The CyberHome ACB-01 had the quality I was looking for, all the extras like cables and DC power plug, price made it a good value, and post-purchase it's proved easy to use, clean up, and versatile.

The case was very well made and sturdy. Unfortunatly it was too small for my sony 7 in DVD portable player. Returning it to amazon was quick and easy. I wish it would have fit.

It's a great little case. The only problem is there should be more thickness (or width) to the case so one can fit more things in, like cables, charger, dvds, etc. An additional velcro-operated pouch outside the bag could easily solve this, along with a little bit of additional width or thickness. Otherwise, it is sturdy and looks like a good purchase. Let's see how much wear and tear it can take over time, especially since I've given this to my 9-year old son!

This is the second portable dvd - car case I purchased and this one is great. It lays flat against the car seat (as opposed to some others that keep the dvd player bent and keep hitting the person viewing!).
The player fits securely in the case (although the straps are a little odd). It works nicely. This doesnt allow for mounting for multiple people in the car to see it- really only the person sitting behind the seat its mounted on.
There are also two pockets large enough for the dvds.

I love this item. We bought 2 cases for our sons before we left for vacation. It can hang from the seats but they just held them on their lap or layed it on the couch in the van. The boys arranged everything in the case so the battery even fits in it. I was glad about that. I'd recommend this item.
