Not just a great surround-decoding DVD player, the CH-RDV 2000 features an extra disc tray for recording and playing CD-Rs and CD-RWs, letting you copy audio and data CDs, as well as MP3 CDs, right from a DVD player. An onscreen burner interface makes it easy to duplicate an entire disc or to select only specific tracks. Video technologies include a 24-bit video processor for true 16-bit RGB Graphics (YUV), advanced vertical flicker filtering for outstanding video quality, and a powerful, 81 MHz/32-bit RISC processor.
In the audio realm, the unit feature Dolby Digital and DTS digital-audio outputs (coaxial and optical), Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel digital surround decoding (for use with surround receivers bearing 5.1-channel analog inputs), and programmable disc playback for both audio and MP3 tracks. For hookups, the CH-RDV 2000 offers high-quality component-video, S-video, and RCA-type composite-video outputs for compatibility with most televisions. Stereo RCA analog-audio outputs can be plugged directly into a TV, stereo, or surround receiver.
Other features include parental control with password protection and a multifunction, 48-key remote control. The box includes a remote control with batteries, a power cable, a stereo analog-audio interconnect, an RCA-type composite-video cable, and a user's manual.

I returned this product after playing a half does or so DVD's. I had it hooked to a 1996 27' Sharp via composite yellow cable. I played a half dozen or so DVD's, most brand new. The picture 'flickered' at scene changes. This was very annoying. Some DVD's were worse ( flickering at almost every scene change) than others (flckering 4-5 times per movie). I never got around to recording or even playing cds because the DVD playback was unaceptable. Made in China. Their US customer support was difficult to locate and could not help.

If I could rate it less than one star - I would. The product didn't work from the beginning. We followed the instructions to the letter. The product was a total waste of money and the company never responded to numerous emails. PS-Didn't get it at Amazon.

When there are bright white scenes in the movie, the player will not read it and the screen goes black. This is kinda annoying. I have burned CD's with it and it does a good job. You cant switch the CD out and pick songs off another one and burn them though. You have to record the entire CD for it to work. Not my first choice for a product but what did I expect for 150 dollars
