Measuring a mere 8.5 inches square by little more than 3 inches high, the MDV-016 is perfect for anyone seeking the quality and convenience of DVD technology for the living room, game room, bedroom, kids' room, kitchen, office, or college dormitory--or anywhere where space is limited.

The player is compatible with DVD-Video, video-mode DVD-R/RW, SVCD, VCD, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, and MP3 CD. It plays both NTSC- and PAL-formatted discs, convenient for viewing non-region-encoded European DVDs on compatible TVs. Parental password protection locks the player when viewing would otherwise be unsupervised.

Password-protected parental controls help you manage player use. Other playback functions include zoom, slow motion, multi-angle, program play, video segment bookmarking, and multispeed fast-forward and rewind.

Top-of-the-line component-video outputs help minimize digital and line-scan artifacts on compatible advanced televisions, while composite- and S-video outputs bring compatibility with nearly any television. A single set of left/right analog-audio outputs channel audio to Dolby Pro Logic receivers and stereo televisions, and both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround signals, can be routed through the player's digital-audio outputs (one each of RCA coaxial and Toslink optical) for direct connection to a full-featured audio/video receiver.

Very neat looking machine! Works great, owned it for a few years already! Zoom Feature is nice for widescreen movies.(When you dont have a widescreen tv like me) Nice remote also!
