Don't waste your time,

There's a lot to like about this DVD player - it's very portable and comes with a box/packaging that makes it easy to pack up and take with you. The features are comparable to much higher priced players. However, now the bad news. The player functioned well the first couple of times I used it but its performance has steadily gone down hill. You put a disk in and it spins and spins and can't read it and will then say "no disk". Frequently, if you try to shut the power off at the unit or with the remote to restart it, it will NOT EVEN POWER DOWN. You end up having to unplug it to cut the power. I have taken "problem disks" to my other DVD player which is an inexpensive Sony unit and the disks play without a hitch. Stay away from this unit. All the portability and functions in the world can't compensate for a DVD player that can't even play disks.

First you will notice that they were all made in 2001. It runs on this huge Dc converter, and it tends to heat up. The remote is not universal compatable so you have to use their remote only, does not even have a "floating" screen saver to protect tv from burn in.KEEP AWAY FROM THIS UNIT.....My stop playing on the 3rd DVD.

Don't look any further. This baby kicks donkey! This is the first DVD player that I have owned, but I've used a lot before this. This thing is awesome. It's easy to hook up and disconnect. It's small and light, so it's easy to take with you to a friend's house. I'm in college right now, so it's a great space saver (it fits on top of my TV). The thing is competely self-explanatory -- I didn't even have to read the directions to begin using it. It's just plug it in, and play the DVD. The remote control has all of the buttons that a person could ever want -- zoom, fast forward, reverse (both of which can be done at different speeds), etc. etc. All of my friends are in awe -- at the quality and the pirce. Now, I know I'm sounding like I was paid to write this, or I know the owners of the company or something. But, I'm not. I had never heard of Cyber Home before I bought this thing. I still haven't seen anything else that they make. It doesn't matter though -- they've pleased me with this DVD player. Go 'Canes (#1 for the second year in a row!) and thank you Cyber Home for this awesome DVD player.

Often isn't able to play DVDs that I've owned for sometime and new ones right out of the jewel case. Can't understand why this is occuring and to make matters worse, phone provided with manual is no longer in service and the web-site no longer exists as well. Piece of crap, if you ask me,

awsome player!,

We love this compact size DVD player. It may be small, but it plays just as well as the larger and more expensive models. I bought this player for my daughter (a college student) for her birthday. She loved it! It was small and easy to hook up to her TV--She didn't even read the directions! Her friends were impressed with the unit and they watched lots of movies! (wonder when they had time to study!) One reviewer stated that it worked good at first and then they started having problems. She has not had any problems--so far. Maybe they got a bad unit. Its great to take on vacations because of its small size and easy hook-up. No need to rent movies at the hotels(at $ per movie)when this is so easy to bring along with you! I will probably be buying more of these units as my other children head off to college. We are thoroughly impressed with this player!

Works sometimes,

I purchased this as a gift for my parents and this thing is very fickle. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. And it doesn't matter what DVD you play it will never work the same. I would not purchase this item again.

Prism DVD Player,

I bought the prism dvd player about a month ago. I liked it because it lights up blue (so does my phone, and my stereo)But it doesn't play all movies. Or sometimes it would read "No Disc", then you have to open and reclose the player, sometimes you have to do it a few times, it will either play or it won't.Over all, it has played more movies than not. I do like the player, but if you like to watch DVD's all the time, you might want to pick another player.

Maybe I just had a bum unit, but I had problems with this thing right out of the box. I popped in my first movie, and it displayed the message, "No disc." So I took the disc out and put it in again and got the message, "Open." I took the disc out and put it in a few more times, until it finally acknowledged the disc and that its lid was closed. However, 3/4 of the way through the movie, it just stopped playing for no reason, suddenly saying "no disc." I managed to restart it, and watched the last 1/4 of the movie with no problems. I was hoping that these were isolated incidents, but they weren't. This problem started on Friday, right after I hooked it up. On Saturday, it became more and more of a struggle to play a disc. At one point, I just had to let it rest for an hour and go back before it would acknowledge that it was indeed closed, and indeed contained a disc. By Sunday, it gave me the message that the lid was open no matter what I did, and the thing was useless. I'm shipping it back and buying a totally different unit. I am very disappointed because I loved the looks of the thing, the remote was easy to figure out, and given the very limited space in my entertainment center, the size was perfect. But if it doesn't work, it doesn't matter if it looks pretty. Hope others are having better luck with this unit, and that my bad luck was just a fluke, but I'm not willing to re-try to find out.

cool looking!,

This is a very cool looking and space efficient dvd player, especially if you don't have the traditional home theatre shelving in which all the equipment is identical and fits in a slim shelf. This can sit out and look cool. It works as well as all normal dvd players and is good enough for average user. There are 2 rather key problems though. First, there is no display to tell you what track or where you are in the movie. Since this plays cd's I bought it as a cd player too, but you can never tell what track you're on. The second thing is this keeps the cd spinning as long as it's on. you have to shut it off to stop that. If these aren't problems, it definately works fine and looks cool.
