CyberLaw: Text and Cases,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: CyberLaw: Text and Cases (Hardcover)
This is a great book for anyone in media arts that publishes Web content.
The book has a thorough breakdown of current laws and cases regarding Web sites and online businesses. I purchased the book guaranteed through Amazon from a third party (Green leaves). I needed the book fast so I paid expedited shipping. The book arrived as promised, professionally packaged and in perfect condition. I am highly satisfied with my purchase.

This book is very good as it provides you a lot of information you needed to know about politics and technology. Contains several different cases and they are all nice to check out. A good book to have for a class involving politics and technology.

This book is required reading for a class I'm taking. The professor mentioned on the first day of class that is it a bit outdated and that there are few books on this new subject, so we were stuck. In reading it I understand now his comments. The first thing that jump out at me is the poor editing. Most legal books, even paralegal books, are competently written, except for this one. I find the argument difficult to follow and the logic seems circular in many instances. I'm fairly well versed with in rem jurisdiction, but had a hard time trying follow the explanation in this book. I'm assuming that it is because it is trying to appeal to an IT crowd as well as those with legal backgrounds. Unfortunately this book ends up doing both poorly. Given that however, it does provide a good general introduction to the topic and a good place to start if you are new to the concept of cyber law as a discipline. Stated another way, its better than nothing.

Wanted to rate a 0, but I guess the system requires at least a 1. This book was needed for a university course I am scheduled to attend. When I ordered this book it was listed here for about $95. Two days after I ordered the book, Classicbooks contacted me to inform me they would not ship to an APO address. APO addresses are valid U.S. addresses at U.S. military installations overseas and there is no legitimate reason to not ship a textbook to that address. When I checked my account online, after the order was cancelled, I noticed that the book was no listed by Classicbooks for about $155. So, I believe the real reason they would not ship, and cancelled my order, was because they mislisted the price and wanted to get the extra $60 from me. I would not recommend doing business with Classicbooks.
