Fan was loud.
K. Sandy
I replaced the 15a fuse with a 20a spare fuse that was in the fuse box, but when we plugged the inverter back in, it blew the 20a fuse.

The fan blows constantly and is very loud. It drowns out anything you are tryIng to hear. Otherwise it works great.

Bought this at Wal*mart a few months back and at first it worked pretty well. Then it began cutting off and then back on again over and over which caused the computer to lose more charge than it was getting. The only way around this was to leave the car running the whole time it was in use.
A couple days ago it started making an awful noise when plugged in. The noise was more of an annoyance than anything until a burning smell came from it and smoke came out of the side air vents!
For the nearly $40 it cost to buy it I would say it is definitely NOT worth it (and it was a big mistake to throw the package and receipt out) since it lasted only about 3 months!

Edit: Just wanted to add that it also began blowing the fuse to the 12v accessory socket...

I also purchased mine at Wal-Mart. Besides being very noisy, it blows the accessory fuse faster than a pulsar pulses. When it isn't blowing fuses, it frequently doesn't convert the power as I have to unplug and replug my laptop's brick a few time before the laptop shows it is receiving power. Seems there is a invert delay before it starts passing power through.

Also, it does have issues running when the vehicle has been off for awhile... Don't know if this is a safety feature, or just a draw hog and shuts down if car Battery is getting too much of a drain.

For the money, it is NOT worth the blown fuses and aggravating noise from the fan system, and I consider it a piece of garbage.

Beware-beware-beware. This inverter is awful: 1) fan makes a LOUD whine, 2) overheats, 3) blows fuses. Need I say more?

Product never worked as advertised. Often switched off unexpectedly or overheated. USB power port didn't even have enough juice to power an iphone or camera battery. Fan was loud. Eventually just burned out despite I was just charging a phone or battery. Do not buy.

This is a piece of junk. It made a horrible shrieking noise and heated up so hot it burned us. Then it broke completely. It happened just a couple of weeks after we bought it -- the first trip we used it on! Don't get it: it may be dangerous.
