The CyberPower Smart App Sinewave PR2200LCDRT2U provides battery backup

For network servers, telecom installations, and VoIP systems

A rack/tower convertible UPS with line interactive topology, the CyberPower Smart App Sinewave PR2200LCDRT2U provides battery backup, power protection (using sine wave output), and surge protection for corporate servers, department servers, storage appliances, network devices, and telecom installations requiring Active PFC power source compatibility. The PR2200LCDRT2U uses Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) to correct minor power fluctuations without switching to battery power, which extends battery life. AVR is essential in areas where power fluctuations occur frequently.

Why you need it

When power goes out for even a second it can result in data loss and hardware damage which can shorten equipment life expectancy. This battery backup unit provides sufficient emergency runtime power to allow for safe closure of open files and proper shut down of electronics when an outage occurs. In addition, it safeguards electronics from commonly occurring power surges caused by storms, activity on the power grid, or high-powered equipment turning on and off. Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) stabilizes incoming voltage, preventing chronic problems caused by minor but frequent power fluctuations.

Typical Use

Provides backup power and surge protection for corporate and departmental servers, telecom equipment, VoIP and Internetworking hardware requiring pure sine wave output, and Active PFC power source compatibility. Safeguards valuable documents, image files and connected equipment from loss or damage due to power fluctuations and surges, as well as uncontrolled equipment shutdown caused by power interruptions.

Power Management Software

PowerPanel Business Edition software provides IT professionals with the tools they need to easily monitor and manage their backup power. This advanced software allows users remote access from any network PC with a web browser to instantly access vital UPS battery conditions, load levels, and runtime information as well as provide graceful unattended shut down of network computers and virtual machines connected to a battery backup during a power event. Power alerts can be set up to send notifications though email, text, or instant message.

When the UPS is on A/C power it's completely silent!

So far I'm quite happy with this purchase, which was a replacement for another cheaper branded USP that suddenly died after about 3 years of service.

It's big & heavy rack mountable UPS & seems be made with quality. A bit loud (clicking) when trying to compensate for poor quality / inconsistent power, but it does it's job, well it did, until it didn't, from working fine & only 2 bars as far as the load. 30+ min. of run time, then

1. Battery Disconnects, goes to 0%
2. Receive an error "Name: Batteries are not present" which in turn leads to an instant "Available run time is insufficient"
(Zero battery is obviously insufficient), within 1 min., it's fine, "Batteries have been installed" & back to 100%

This would repeat & a loud alarm would go off (as it should when there is no electricity) but there was electricity, everything else in the office was fine, just this alarm going off for a minute at a time from 5 - 20 times a day.

I wrote the company an email, they sent a FedEx mailer to send it back. They said they received it, but the cord was cut. I asked if there was damage to the box? They didn't answer that question, they just said there was nothing they could do with a cut cord. What do I do now? Tell them to send it back so I can fix the cord? I didn't fight, I can't claim anything since it's their FedEx account & I will just move to another UPS company.

After the reading the comment of my review, I sent the invoice. Just as promised a tracking number was furnished the next day & a brand new unit arrived a few days later, which has been working perfectly since. Thank you Mr. Miesen for your support, professionalism & follow up.

Mr Bologna - the unit was received in an unopened undamaged box with the cord cut at a diagonal. Please email me a copy of your Amazon invoice at pmiesen@cpsww.com and I will make sure that if the unit is still under the original 3 year warranty we will repair or replace the UPS system. Thank you for your CyberPower purchase.

This unit is really HEAVY with 4 12V 7.2AH batteries. It is in a very sturdy metal case and comes with vertical support brackets as well as rack mounting brackets.

When in standby use, it is TOTALLY silent AND cold... room temperature... no plastic smell or hot case typical of many plastic case lesser UPSs.

Only when the unit is delivering battery backup power does it become noisy because of a cooling fan that comes on only when it is delivering battery power. I do not use it to operate my computers in a power failure... used just to save files and shut down several computers when there is a power failure.

The supplied software seems to work fine to shut down computers and after that to shut down the UPS to conserve remaining battery charge.

This is one HEAVY UPS. Make no mistake, this is not really intended for home use. It is incredibly user friendly, except the weight. The software is great! The only real downside is when the unit looses power, the fans that kick on are more than a little noisy... but they only come turn on when it looses power, so that's a pretty small downside... Oh, and only 4 of the outlets are back-up outlets. The other 4 are surge protected only. All in all, the unit is great. And [...] got it to me FAST! I've ordered from them before, and will definitely do so again

A. Barker - All of the 9 outlets for this unit are both surge protected and battery backup. Of those 9 outlets, 4 of them are considered "critical load" outlets. These outlets will remain running in the event of a UPS overload condition (someone plugs too much equipment into the UPS). The UPS will shed the other 4 outlets first to correct the overload keeping the "critical load" outlets running.

I bought this and another UPS by CyberPower and find them both to work very well. This one is actually handling just my desktop & monitors and the other one I have handles my Plasma TV.

I've had a lot of Power problems in my house between brown outs and breakers tripping and with these UPS's I haven't had any more trouble with my computer and tv shutting off because of something else in another part of the house turning on.

Both my computer and TV require Pure/True Sinewave and as I had already spent hundreds of dollars on APC UPS's at Best Buy to try and keep my computers on, these were a nice upgrade to UPS's that weren't working.

The unit is solidly built and looks great from the outside. However, once I had the unit installed, it was reporting input voltage ranges from 60v to 170v, but generally averaged about 117v. I checked the line and never saw any such drops or spikes in line voltage; the actual line voltage was running at 119v to 121v consistently. When I pulled the plug to test the battery, the unit immediately showed an output voltage of 120v (as expected)... but as I continued to monitor the UPS, the output voltage on battery jumped from 71v to 160v over a 30-second span of time. I suspect that the firmware in the UPS used to monitor and calculate line voltages is faulty, but for a unit that offers automatic voltage regulation, accurate reporting is important. The UPS was returned as defective.

The CyberPower 1500 Smart UPS is an excellent Sinewave power backup I purchased for half the price, with more features (and better efficiency) to replace a Panamax. Unlike my previous AV UPS, the CyberPower is quiet and quite efficient (it goes into a sleep mode when your equipment is off or not drawing power), yet is quick to respond when you switch equipment on. I am very happy with this UPS - use it to protect and backup my LCD TV, Denon Receiver, Sony Blu Ray player, and HD Cable box. A great buy!!

I'm very happy so far.
Can't wait for three or four years to go by so that I can get a feel for battery life in these units.
I have had pretty bad luck with other brands.
I've had more UPS failures, than utility power Failures, with other brands. Mainly cause of batteries going shorted/overheated.
the optional remote management rmcard202 card works great.
